FISD: Four-day calendar off the table; hybrid possible

New parameters approved Feb. 2 by the Floresville Independent School District (ISD) board of trustees mean that a strictly four-day school calendar is off the table for 2026-27. These parameters guide the calendar development by the administration and the calendar committee to create sample calendars which include 165 student days, 470 minutes per day, and to end the school year by May 27, 2027. To set the parameters, the board considered data presented by Assistant Superintendent Heather Brooks, including responses from district staff and families from a calendar survey completed earlier this year.
