The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs have officially secured a UIL playoff berth, clinching fourth place in District 26-3A as they headed into their final District game Feb. 17 against District leader Goliad. The Mustangs battled through a competitive District schedule this season, showing steady improvement and resilience along the way. After facing early challenges in District play, Nixon-Smiley responded with key wins down the stretch to lock up a postseason spot.
