Lady Mustangs build momentum in Pettus

The Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustangs softball team finished with a strong 3-2 record at the Pettus Tournament held Feb. 27-28, continuing to build momentum early in the season under first-year head coach and Nixon-Smiley alumna Kendra Smith. The Lady Mustangs earned victories over Cole (11-8), La Pryor (8-6), and host Pettus (14-3), showcasing timely hitting and solid defensive play throughout the tournament. Nixon-Smiley battled in two tough contests, falling to Yorktown in a close 7-6 game and to Three Rivers, 11-4.
