Join fellow Texans to honor the valor and sacrifice of the Alamo Defenders at the 190th Commemoration of the Siege and Battle of the Alamo. The 12-day siege took place from Feb. 23, 1836, to March 5, 1836, culminating with the world-famous battle in the predawn hours on March 6, 1836. Gather for Dawn at the Alamo, Friday, March 6, from 6-7 a.m., a solemn tribute to the Alamo Defenders. This ceremony, complete with readings, music, and a musket volley, honors their ultimate sacrifice.
