Lady Mustang powerlifting sends three to State

The Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustangs competed at the THSWPA Region V 3A Division II Regional Powerlifting meet held on March 5 at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, where several athletes delivered strong performances and three lifters earned spots at the State meet. Leading the Lady Mustangs was Ruby Mendez, who finished third in the 114-pound weight class with an impressive 705-pound total, consisting of a 250-pound squat, 175-pound bench press, and 280-pound deadlift.
