Mustang powerlifters dominate Regionals

The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs continued their dominance on the platform Saturday, winning their third straight Regional Championship at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association Region 4 Division 3 Championships held March 7 in Navasota. The Mustangs powered their way to the team title with 37 total points, finishing well ahead of runners-up Van Vleck and Vanderbilt Industrial, who each scored 23 points. Several Mustang lifters delivered outstanding performances, highlighted by Regional Champions Khali Jantes, Eric Rodriguez, and Gavino Moreno.
