Tanker crash causes power outage near La Vernia

A big rig crash is the cause of a Sunday morning power outage for many La Vernia-area residents. Wilson County Sheriff’s Office personnel responded March 8 to a single-vehicle accident involving a tanker truck on U.S. 87 near Pullman Road and C.R. 341 at approximately 9:57 a.m., according to Deputy Skylar Dailey, public information officer with the sheriff’s office. This resulted in downed power lines and other damage, Dailey said; as a precaution, the roadway was closed for a period of time.
