The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office experienced an internet outage March 14 that shut down non-emergency phone lines for four hours. The 911 emergency line was not affected. However, individuals who needed to make non-emergency reports were advised to make their reports at the sheriff’s office in person. The outage was announced at 4:18 p.m. Saturday. According to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office public information officer, Deputy Skylar Dailey, the outage was caused by a cut fiber cable. The internet and the phone lines were back in operation by 8:41 p.m. the same day.
