Although she hasn’t lived anywhere near Floresville for decades, Patty Flora Sitchler of Lakewood, Colo., maintains a connection to the community where her mother grew up. “My grandfather, James E. ‘Jim’ Tipton, moved to Floresville some time between 1910-20,” Patty shared. “My grandmother, Jettie Lou Cale Tipton, was also connected to the Wilson County community through her father, G.B. Cale, and mother, Mary Belle Stout Cale.” The Cales originally lived on the northeast side of S.H. 97 in Marcelina around 1900, and both are buried in the Marcelina Baptist Church Cemetery, according to Patty.
