Mustangs battle among Texas' best at State meet

ABILENE — The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs powerlifting team took the biggest stage in Texas and put on a strong performance at the THSPA Boys State Meet Division 3, competing against the top lifters across the state on March 27. The Mustangs competed in various weight classes and demonstrated they are among the best, finishing 29th overall as a team in a very competitive field. Leading the way for Nixon-Smiley was Gavino Moreno, who delivered an outstanding performance in the 220-pound weight class.
