Small town, big impact: La Vernia council hears plans for 200-home subdivision on U.S. 87 from developers

More than 200 home sites on approximately 230 acres on Highway 87 across from H-E-B in La Vernia. That’s what developers envision for the Pierdolla property, and they shared this vision April 9 with the La Vernia City Council. The smallest lots will be 50 feet wide; the largest will be half-acre sites, according to Jeff Czar Jr. and Shad Schmid, partners with San Antonio-based KingFish Development. Plans also include “resort-style amenities,” such as pickleball and park areas, Czar outlined.
