Poth Mighty Pirate Band performs in Battle of Flowers Band Festival

The Poth High School Mighty Pirate Band is ready April 23 to participate in the Battle of Flowers Band Festival in Alamo Stadium during Fiesta San Antonio. The Mighty Pirate Band was one of three area bands to perform as a feature band in the festival, performing “Free as a Bird” with musical selections, including “Blackbird” by “The Beatles” and “Free Bird” by “Lynyrd Skynyrd.” The band is under the direction of Head Band Director Chase Failing, Junior High Band Director Fabien Chavez, and Color Guard Director Alyson Garza, and the field direction of drum majors Lilyanna Salas and Dane...
