Event welcomes ideas about future Floresville railroad museum

Gary Rodriguez, president of the San Antonio Railroad Heritage Museum, makes a point during the Floresville Heritage and Railroad Museum’s first National Train Day event May 9 to share an artist’s concept of a restored railroad track crossing Trail Street near the Floresville El Camino Trail. If realized, along with the restoration of the historical depot as a museum, a short passenger train could offer brief excursions from Elmendorf to Floresville and points farther south. The tracks would run generally parallel to the hike and bike trail, Rodriguez said. See more from the event, pages 2A, 3B.
