LVISD names new girls athletic director

La Vernia ISD has hired Catherine Foerster as its new girls athletic director. After a closed session at the May 18 district board meeting, superintendent Dr. Hensley Cone made the announcement as he introduced Foerster to the trustees. “Coach Foerster brings an extraordinary legacy of leadership, championship success, and student-athlete development to Bear Country,” said Cone. “[Her] passion, leadership, and vision make her a perfect fit for Lady Bear athletics.” Foerster’s three children joined her before the trustees as she told the board, “We’re so excited to be here … go, Bears!” Coach Foerster comes to the district with more...
