POTH — Emmanuel Assembly of God will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a public centennial ceremony Saturday, June 6, honoring a century of worship, service, and missions in Poth from its earliest outdoor gatherings to the congregation that meets there today. Rural beginnings According to the church’s written history, the gospel was first preached in Poth around 1915, and a number of itinerant preachers ministered in the area before a more permanent congregation formed.
