Fiber line crew causes gas leak in Stockdale

A crew boring to install fiber optic lines is the reason for a gas leak that prompted the city of Stockdale to completely shut off its natural gas service to the city last week. According to City Manager Stephen Mayfield, contractors for Spectrum who were boring in the vicinity of Eighth Street to install fiber optic lines damaged natural gas lines July 22, which prompted the citywide shut off the following day.
