ESD 3 to honor original Stockdale EMS members with commemorative plaque

Wilson County Emergency Services District 3 (ESD 3) will honor 13 individuals who helped establish ESD 3’s predecessor, the Stockdale Emergency Medical Services (EMS), with a plaque. Stockdale resident Johnny Akin presented several historical items to the ESD 3 board of commissioners July 20 that were discovered while cleaning out a family member’s home, said ESD 3 Chief David Rice. ESD 3 provides EMS to all of eastern Wilson County, including the cities of Stockdale and La Vernia, and parts of Guadalupe County. “Among the items were documents related to the first EMT class, consisting of 13 individuals who graduated...
