Teen dies in early morning crash in La Vernia

A single-vehicle crash in La Vernia has resulted in the death of a La Vernia teenager. According to the La Vernia Police Department, a 2015 Lexus RX3 was traveling northbound on U.S. 87 around 3:50 a.m. Sunday morning, Aug. 2. For reasons unknown, the vehicle left the roadway, rolled over, and crashed into the brick “Welcome to La Vernia” sign at U.S. 87 and Chihuahua Street. The vehicle caught fire.
