Texas Comptroller Don Huffines today said state sales tax revenue totaled .6 billion in July, 10.1 percent more than in July 2025. The majority of July sales tax revenue is based on sales made in June and remitted to the agency in July. Calendar year-to-date sales tax revenue was .6 billion, up 7.4 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Sales tax is the largest source of state funding for the state budget, accounting for 58 percent of all tax collections.
