Last weekend, I took a camping trip with two of my closest friends at Lake Corpus Christi. We hiked, went swimming, kayaked, and everything else you would expect from a camping trip. But one thing stayed on my mind the whole time: my parents weren’t there. I had just turned 18 two weeks before, and it was my first time doing something independently as an adult.
