Healing the Endocrine System Holistically
Show Notes Transcript

Why it’s important: The endocrine system and the nervous system are two of the most important messenger systems in our bodies. They have tremendous influence over our emotions, energy levels, and cognition.

Supporting and healing these systems may be difficult without a good understanding of energy medicine. Dr. Mary Sanders, a chiropractor and medical intuitive, shares wisdom she gained on her own healing journey and insights on the underlying causes of endocrine dysfunction. She will discuss how to strengthen, support, and heal this system with the help of simple energy techniques.

Dr. Alice Lee:

Hello, and welcome to the holistic psychiatrists podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Alice Lee, the holistic psychiatrist practicing in Lehi, Utah. Today we have a wonderful guest with us Dr. Mary Sanders, who is a chiropractor by training but is also a medical intuitive. So let me tell you a little bit about her training and background. So Dr. Mary has over 25 years of experience as a self employed chiropractor and consultant, and 15 years ago, she experienced adrenal fatigue firsthand and crashed hard at the time, she didn't have the necessary tools or resources to navigate the difficult period in her life, so she panicked and ran away to the other side of the world. Now she is wholeheartedly committed to supporting women who want to transform the way they show up in the world and experience thriving health, happiness and purpose. Utilizing the tools of energy medicine, chiropractic and positive psychology. Dr. Mary earned her doctorate in chiropractic medicine from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. She completed her certificate in positive psychology from the whole being Institute in Lenox, Massachusetts, and studied under Dr. Tal Ben Shahar. In addition, she completed her master's in intuition medicine from the Academy of intuition medicine in Sausalito, California, and studied under Dr. Francesca McCartney. I'm excited to invite Mary, Dr. Mary to come in and help us understand a little bit more about the endocrine system. But also, we're going to be exploring a lot more than that, trying to understand a lot more about the energy systems of the body as well. Welcome to the podcast. Dr. Mary, thank you so much for agreeing to being with us today.

Unknown:

Dr. Lee, sincerely, the honor is all mine. Thank you for having me.

Dr. Alice Lee:

It's wonderful to be able to explore this area that you're more familiar with, because I you know, I started from the psychiatry perspective. So I'm all about fixing people's neurotransmitters. But here you're trying to help us understand more about the endocrine system, which I know is just as important and can create a lot of psychiatric symptoms, both emotional and physical. So why don't we start with how you view the human body and the biofield to begin with. And then we can just go from there and explore this whole area together.

Unknown:

Thank you and Alice, before we dive into today's topic, I should correct myself and do the proper reference to you and call you Dr. Lee. So forgive me for calling you by your first name. I just want to talk about how I view the human body through the lens of intuition. Medicine is kind of unique, in that I have trained, been trained professionally in order to open and expand my awareness to receive information through my intuitive senses. And so what that means to those that are listening to the podcast today is how I receive information is above and beyond the traditional five senses sight, hearing, smell, touch taste. So I opened myself up and have been trained through meditation to receive information in via Clairsentience how I physically feel within my body when I connect with other people. I also open up through clairvoyance and how I view the information and also just through direct knowing. Now I have been trained on those 30 years of being in the field of chiropractic. I use my hands for almost everything. So what I didn't realize over the last 30 years that that I was developing psychometry that connects in directly into my Clairsentience so all of a sudden I have an opportunity to view the human system, looking at the biofield their energy that surrounds people and to feel the energy centers within the chakra that lie within It's a cold body. And so the chakra system a for those listeners that are kind of like I kind of have a little bit of inflammation, but I'd like to know a little bit more about it. What I want to talk about, it should kind of define what the chakras are. And when I know today we're going to be talking about the endocrine system. But through the lens of intuition, medicine, we're going to approach the endocrine system by better understanding the functionality of the seven lower chakras associated with the physical body. And a chakra is nothing other than just an energy center. It's a vortex. It's how we receive and express our lifeforce energy out into the world. This is not a new concept. This is a concept that's been around for years. And when you look at the the yoga yoga tradition, the Hindi, the reo, Vedic practitioners, they have a you know, as you know, they've been working with energy medicine for for century being able to treat the physical body by better understanding the subtle energetic system, and that runs around the physical body and with him, the physical body. So when I view a person to energy system like you, I set myself into an expanded state, and I opened the information to flow through my intuition, so that I can physically feel what's happening within the other person's field within my body.

Dr. Alice Lee:

That's really amazing. And I love that. I wish I had those same wonderful skills, but it takes a long time to be able to develop those skills and be able to use that in a clinical setting. So once you are able to have those skills, and you're touching base with those aspects of people's energy fields, how does that help you to be able to support that patient's healing process?

Unknown:

I think that's a really good question, Dr. Lee, and I find it to be an honor, first and foremost, to have been trained in the opportunity to fine tune these goals. So to support another human being, and to support a beautiful spirit in their healing journey is an honor to me. So I take it very seriously. It's not something that I take lightly. So when I am supporting another person, it's always via an agreement, they I ask them for permission to read their energy system. And many people will come to me and say, Okay, I'm having a physical issue, or I'm having emotional issues, or I'm just bumping up with the same problems in my life time and time again, how can I overcome these obstacles. And so by utilizing the information that we receive via the intuition, and by the way, I believe that every body on this planet, all the listeners that are listening today have that ability within their natural system, they are innately designed to receive the same information that I receive, or the same information that you receive, I just have been in an environment for umpteen numbers of years in order to be able to fine tune my skills. Essentially, what I want to do is to hold space for those for those physical transformation for others. And when it comes to I'm trying to get back to your original question, because I feel like I went sideways on what I was talking about. Can you remind me what your original question was?

Dr. Alice Lee:

How, as you see people's energy fields, how does that translate into your ability to help heal them? You know, okay, from there.

Unknown:

Okay, so what I would like to do in order to really answer this question, if it's okay with you, Dr. Lee, I would like to talk about some of the chakra anatomy, so that I can then talk about how I help facilitate healing and transformation within others. Is that okay? Yeah, sure. All right. So I realized that we have some listener that are just listening to SMB audio, and I realized there is another handful of people that will be viewing this via video. So I have with me today are some props. Okay. Now, some of these props, I have to give full credit. Okay, my instructor at the Academy of intuition Medicine, Dr. Francesca McCartney, was the first person who gave the props so that I could better understand the functionality of the chakra system. So I'm going to be using those props giving credit to her. But I would like to talk about the function of the chakra system as we operate in today's world. We're always giving and receiving information through our chakra system. The information from the environment come through the auric boundary. He's into our biofield or our by our aura and then begins to penetrate into this funnel or this vortex of energy. And so this vortex its primary job is to receive this information and to assimilate it. Once it assimilates it. It then expresses that lifeforce energy out into the world. And that's just one of the functions. And then the other function. The second function of the chakra system is for emotional regulation. Okay, and we're gonna get into that once I talk about the chakra anatomy as to how emotion can be triggered based upon the information that you received through the chakra. And then also know that your ability to visualize and to set intentions, energy follows thought so that you have as an individual, you have the ability to auto regulate your chakra system, and that's a big deal, depending upon the environment that you are in. And last but not least, are there are theories that each chakra represents various levels of consciousness. So as we ascend into the higher chakras, we're increasing the frequency to connect to a higher level of consciousness. Kim, I'd like to talk about the seven lower chakras and their locations. First and foremost. The first chakra, which is intimately related to your physical body is going to be located deep within the pelvic bowl just right above the pubic symphysis. The second chakra, which is most intimately connected with your emotions, or your creativity is directly below the belly button, maybe about two inches or so. The third chakra is located in the upper abdomen just underneath the tip of the DI fluid which is the base of the sternum, and that connects into your autonomy or your sovereignty. The fourth chakra is located in the center of the sternum connected to the heart space, and that is most intimately connected in with compassion. The fifth chakra is located within the throat connecting your authentic expression in this world. The sixth chakra, often known as the Third Eye, is connected into clear seen or clairvoyant, and then the seventh chakra located on the top of the vortex of the cranium opens up into all that is available and into the divine wisdom. I was talking about using some household props to describe the anatomy of the chakra system. Now I'd like to plant the seed that within the human body there's going to be in an energy channel that I will refer to as the vertical power current and the vertical power current that I will I will use and today's kind of visual representation is just a paper towel holder. So for those that are listening, this paper towel holder is being held up perpendicular to the floor upon which you sit and that imagine runs up and down almost midline but a little bit further back closer to the spine. And what I've done this nurses that I have created a hole in the middle of the paper towel holder, the cardboard paper towel holder, and this is literally for the the funnel okay kitchen funnel which allows you to be able to pour liquids into a bottle, I take the small part of the funnel and I connect it in to the vertical power current. So all of our chakras are connected in to a vertical energy center that transmits information from above down and information from below up. We have a font and a BAP chakra, but for the sake of the visual aids, I'm only using one side just that I can handle all the Pops. So there's an opening, okay, and that as energy just like a funnel, any normal funnel that we see just like a tornado, that we have an opening that when the information comes in to be assimilated, it gets caught up within a spin and I'll represent the spin and just a moment before the information then gets assimilated within the vertical power curve. The next tool that I would like to use is a salad or a vegetable steamer. And this vegetable steamer is going to represent the APA Sure, or the opening of the Vortech, the chakra. Now for those that are that are listening that have had some training within chakras. If you can imagine all of your energy centers open at 100%, that would just be too much information for an individual to be able to process at any given time. So as I mentioned, one of the four functions of the chakra is to be able to set the intention to auto regulate the aperture of the chakra. So based upon your environment, you can choose to have a chakra that is wide open at 100%. Or you can choose to have an aperture that's open at 50%. Or you can choose to have something that's open at 10%. And it's all based upon your own individual need for energy defensive depending upon the the environment in which you are in. And so once we can get connected and dialed into our ability that we have control over what the aperture is, then we'll be able to really recognize now again, the viewers, I'm using a a windmill, a child's windmill that you would see in an elementary school, and essentially that then spin to represent the level of the energy coming in and to what degree and what level of consciousness that you're going to be working on. Okay, now I want to talk about for those of you that are watching, you will notice that inside my salad theme or my vegetable steamer, I have a bunch of different colors. And so most people have a belief system that Okay, first chakra is red, second one's orange, third one's the yellow, fourth one's green, fifth, one purple, or blue scuze. Me and then you go to purple and indigo, and white. So what happened is be based upon the spin and the photonic emission, the light emission coming out of the chakra, it will affect the color, the clarity and the purpose or the health of that chakra. So in this anatomy, and I review this from a very basic level, so that you can begin to understand that will my experience that as we take the information into the chakra system, it then gets picked up by a nerve Plexus, depending upon what area of the body from that nerve Plexus, it goes into the endocrine gland. And for those of you that are listening, the endocrine gland primary responsibility is the production and the balance of our hormones. Now I'm talking about all about hormones, I'm just not talking about reproductive hormones, I'm talking about, you know, the amount of insulin that your body produces, or the amount of melatonin that your body produces, or the amount of energy that comes out of the thymus. So we have very different endocrine systems associated with each interleukin gland. So let's imagine that the endocrine gland right gets stimulated by the activation of the chakra and it starts to produce hormones. And the hormones get picked up within the body, right, get picked up into the body get processed up into the brain, and then the brain is going to begin to produce the neuropeptide, which get the corresponding emotion. So you can start to see that there is a cyclical event, depending upon if there's a hyper production of hormones or if there is, which is essentially too much, or if they're the hypo production, which is essentially too little. And imagine this loop and I know Dr. Lu, you see this every day within your practice, because not only are you treating from a very conventional standpoint, you're also looking at the functional component in the integrative component and you're also looking at the mind body. So when your body starts to create this hormonal and emotional loop, you can imagine that your body will get addicted to the chemical production as the result of these hormones. So that's how I made the the big leap to say that we're going to be talking about the endocrine system as we are processing information through the chakra system.

Dr. Alice Lee:

And when you work with individuals to help them heal their endocrine system. Are you using your intentions and your connection to energy to help support the chakra health and healing process?

Unknown:

Yeah, absolutely. So if I start to sense that somebody is, let's just let's talk about the first chakra. I'm going to talk about the first chakra because it's most intimately connected with the adrenal glands. So to make the all of the connection for this first chakra, again, it's located deep within the pelvic bowl. It is associated with the lumbo sacral nerve Plexus. It connects into the adrenal system. Okay, so imagine the lumbar sacral nerve flexes, it controls everything from the butt, thighs, knees, ankles, and feet all the way down. So if somebody comes to me with varicosities, or a Morton's neuroma within the foot or knee pain or hip pain, or they're coming to me for adrenal exhaustion, I will then through my intuition, assess that energy center, you know, individually as an individual chakra, as part of the whole chakra system as well. So I'll be looking at Oh, goodness, okay, first and foremost, is it open? Is it closed? What's the aperture? What's the color frequency? What's the spin like the position? Is it fitting? Is it facing forward? Or is it tilted up? Is it tilted down, I'm assessing intuitively as to what's happening within this energy center. And I may find that that energy center has had been stored from trauma or it is holding other people's energy or it is just essentially not functioning. It's not a you know, again, when we talk about the central focus of being survival, and trust within the first chakra, I may find life themes will evolve being around these issues. So when I'm holding space for another person in this sacred space, I'm reading and receiving the information that their spirit wants to reveal to me that's pertinent, pertinent in this time in order to help facilitate the healing for the highest good of the patient. And we you and I both know when it comes to energy. And when we send and say and feel what's happening is that there can be multiple layers behind the information that's being shown. So I may see, first and foremost, I may sense and see that there are other people congesting other frequencies that don't belong to that specific individual. And then we go through a cleansing process and we reground in dumped some of that stuff that no longer served them, then we come back up and reassess, we keep coming back as to what's going to serve the patient what needs to be revealed. Next?

Dr. Alice Lee:

I have a quick question. When I'm working with people and clearing anything, it often translates into detoxification at the physical level. And I wondered when you're clearing problems, or blockages or traumas from the chakras, are you noticing detoxification actually happening at the biochemical level of the physical body?

Unknown:

Absolutely. Okay, without it out. The first thing that I share with patients is that I don't know each individual person that I work with has a different toxicity level, and they have a different elimination process. So I share with them to really flush the system out to do if they are getting muscle aches and pains to do the Epsom salt baths. If they need to fit in an infrared sauna. I do that in order to help pull out the physical impurities. Absolutely. Dr. Lee, I see that physical component. Once we're clearing the energetic component.

Dr. Alice Lee:

Yeah, it's almost unavoidable. I've tried many different ways to try to minimize the Herxheimer effects or the detox effects because when toxins are being removed from the body, typically people feel more anxious. They feel stress as that happens, but it almost seems as if the body in order for it to get healthier, it has to get rid of the toxins, unless there's an energy healing method that can convert or transform toxins at an energy level to something less toxic. That would be kind of a kind of a more, I guess, magical approach that I haven't quite figured out yet. But yeah, for a lot of my patients, that process can be a little bit painful.

Unknown:

I have seen that and Dr. Lee one thing that I have found maybe there's Something that you can play with and explore for your own self is that when I'm holding space, and we are cleansing and in releasing, I'm always offering that energy back to be grounded back down into Mother Earth. And I always say and set the intention to Mother Earth, there's always ready, willing and able to receive any discordant energy, which no longer serve these people, and present time and feel for every time that we release we ground. And so it gives them an opportunity to purge, if you will, and to physically release. And that I think sometimes minimizes the physical responses as far as the toxicity, but I never know from one person to the next person is to who's going to call me the next day and say, Wow, I have had a stomachache, or while I've had a headache, or Wow, I feel like a 10 ton truck hit me. So you know, I do preemptively try to encourage people to drink more water to do the home care. In order to support what it is that we're doing together, I sincerely encourage my patients to take an active approach, not a passive approach. Because at the end of the day, my intention is to create more empowerment for the patient for their own self healing journey.

Dr. Alice Lee:

I have another question that has to do with a pandemic and its effects on our ability to work with people face to face. So there's a difference between face to face appointments, where the person is, let's say laying on a massage table, and you can work on their chakras, versus trying to work on them over zoom or long distance over the phone even. So any thoughts about how that might have an effect on individuals? And what might help that process to work more effectively when it's being done at a distance?

Unknown:

I'd like to answer this question Dr. Lee by sharing one of my my own personal experiences. And then I'll talk about some of the physics behind the energy which helps open up the mind that to allow remote healing to occur. As you mentioned in the intro, I went through an extreme burnout and adrenal fatigue, and essentially what ended up happening and I was running a couple of big practices in Colorado Springs. And it turned out that I kind of had to blow up my world in order to to rebind my balance. And by blowing up my world, it meant that we sold all of our possessions, including our house, and we moved to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. So I was on the other side of the world with primarily non English speaking people. And yet, I still wanted to receive the energy work that I was accustomed to receiving in the United States. And so I had a very good friend who was she was also one of my healers. And at the time, I asked her, I said, I'm really, really needing some energetic support. And she in a very loving and compassionate way, she just chuckled. And she's like, does it matter if you're here physically in Colorado Springs? Or does it matter if you're on the other side of the world and how Chi Minh City, energy is not confined by space nor time. And so I had to step outside of my belief system, and I had to challenge it. And because I had no other option to add that time, then I had to open myself up experientially to understand that firsthand. And then I got into better understanding how energy traveled and where we are within the collective field when we're holding sacred space for another person in their energetic healing. So it doesn't matter if the person is sitting right next to me or if the person is sitting, you know, in another country. And quite honestly, I prefer not having the patient with me face to face, because it allows me as a practitioner, to manage my field and my field only. So that means I can blow up my personal container as big as I want within safety, so that I can receive into it receive better information, intuitive information that will help guide this beautiful spirit on their healing journey.

Dr. Alice Lee:

Well, my thoughts are that when you're face to face, the individuals kind of interacting with your energy fields because the energy fields are so close together, when patients are further apart, what has to happen in order for that work long distance to work just as effectively, would be the faith that it should work in, you know, independent of distance and time. But that the mindset of the person receiving and sending the energy has to be on that level of understanding. Because our intuition, our intentions, and our belief systems can limit how the energy works. Like, for example, if the person sending the energy believes that it's not going to be as effective, or the person receiving the energy believes that it's not going to be received at the full amount, then that belief system plays a fairly integral role in the long distance energy work.

Unknown:

I agree with you, Dr. Lee, I think that mindset is probably 90% of the issue. And it's a mindset, you know, from the practitioner in the mindset of the person that's receiving the patient. Now, what you were talking about when the the what I have found, and again, this is based upon my personal experience, being a chiropractor having my hand on people, what I have found is that it's really hard not to merge with another energetic field. And merging in my world in the intuitive medicine world is I don't want to merge with the other person, I want to create that neutral separation, so that I can be really clear about the information that I am receiving. And it's really quite fascinating in my in holding space for patients remotely is that they physically feel it. They physically feel the shifts the release of the cleansing, the purging, the healing. There, they you, you will hear them say I feel that I feel that I totally sense what you're doing. And it's as if we're in the same room. So it's a beautiful phenomena. If you're, you know, again, for those that are listening that are not, you know, necessarily comfortable and have a perhaps a limiting or constructive mindset around it, I would invite you to play with it, have some more personal experiences, and allow your allow your neurology to experience something new.

Dr. Alice Lee:

Yeah, and I wanted to get back to how you first started to learn more about the healing process using energy work. So you had gone to Vietnam, and you're saying they're trying to heal and get away from the hectic pace of having to chiropractic healing centers. And so share with us that journey of healing for you and how that illuminated your understanding of what we're discussing today, which is the healing of the endocrine system.

Unknown:

Yeah, you know, Dr. Lee, it took me a while I was living my life according to the expectations of others. I never really took the time in my professional accomplishment to slow down and to ask, what does Mary want. And so I was operating in running businesses and running a pace that I thought was expected of me. And I believe that that's what caused my adrenal exhaustion. I was flatlined, I was absolutely flatlined. I could not walk a mile. And I'm, I'm I love to exercise. That's the unit. That's how I, for the most part with meditation, and that's how I manage my stress levels. But I found myself in a position where I was treating patients and I was trying to, to balance out my own endocrine system, and I mean, my reproductive hormones, my thyroid, my, my adrenal system. And that was all over the chart. I was not I was anything but balanced. And so when I hit the extreme point, and my husband looked at me and said, Look, I'm really concerned that if we don't make some changes now, then you are going to, you're going to create a so serious illness. And so when I left my identity, as I knew it, and moved to Vietnam, I went through a huge identity crises. I didn't know who I was, if I was not Dr. Mary. Meaning that, you know, I had a thriving practice, I could go to the grocery store, and I wouldn't be able to, you know, there would be 10 or 20 people I would run into that I would, you know, would recognize I would have conversations with all my patients. So when I was in Vietnam, I felt like I was just the trailing spouse and I say that like I didn't know who I was what I stood for and what my purpose was. And so as soon as we landed in Vietnam, I looked around and I'm like, Oh, holy cow, I'm not sure about this. So let me run away from Vietnam. Let me go to Bali, Indonesia. And let me get back to my yoga and let me get back to my meditation. And so that's what I did. And I went, and I spent a month down in Bali, and I was like, Okay, I just need to be come crash. And I need to reregulate my central nervous system. It was so dysfunctional, I couldn't, you know, I did not know how sympathetically driven my central nervous system was, until I was forced to flow down. And even then I went kicking and screaming. So you know, it's life gives you those lessons in which part of your journey, right, and so I wouldn't have traded that experience. Just like I heard your story last week, Dr. Lee, I know that when you are a resident, and your final training that you experienced some hardships, right? So just some mental imbalances, if you will, just trying to survive the difficulties of this phase of your professional training. And that's a blessing for you. Because then ultimately, you learned that there were more ways to treat you know, the mental body. And so that opened up a lot avenues for you. And so my experience opened up a lot of avenues for me, again, I got heavy into meditation, which I do is dove headfirst, you know, I mean, I had time for the first time in my life. So, you know, I had time to spend, you know, an hour meditation every day. And I know there are some people who are listening who are saying, well, I don't have that time, I don't I can't possibly I'm, you know, my, my demands are too high, I can't possibly meditate every day. And in those of you that are listening to me, in a state of compassion, if you are saying that to yourself, please know that meditation is exactly what you need, even if it's just five minutes every day force yourself and your central nervous system to turn the reflection inward. So upon doing so, when I was turning my reflection inward, I really did have to ask what my purpose was. So I kept asking for divine intervention to show me the way. And of course, you know, I will be wanting an immediate answer just the American way, you know, I want immediate answer. And my answer did not come immediately. So I had to keep doing the same process, keep going diving further and further and, and then that's what prompted me, I started to see some really dynamic benefit from the meditation. And I was like, wow, okay, so there's some science behind here. And I'd like to learn more about the science. And that's what prompted me to go study with Dr. Tal Ben Shahar, because I knew that he was going to talk about the neuroscience behind meditation, so that I could better understand what was happening physiologically and chemically within my brain that was assisting my healing journey. So that's what prompted me to go to study positive psychology. And then as fate has it, we left Vietnam, and then we moved to South America. At that time, I was developing and writing and creating a curriculum for a nonprofit organization, teaching teachers how to step on their yoga mat, teaching teachers how to meditate and why they should meditate, and how to role model this for their kid. And you know, life has it. There's the next ingredient that I needed to learn. Unfortunately, I had to go through the passing of my brother's death, and also my older sister, what I started to realize that there were energy dynamics and energy cord that exist between people and family dynamics. And so then I realized that I knew the physical body really well, I was starting to understand what was happening a little bit within the brain. So it just made logical sense, right? Sequentially for me to go and broaden my awareness and my intellect, about the subtle energy systems surrounding your physical body. So that's what you know, put me on the path for my training for intuition medicine, I hadn't realized that. I had done some earlier training with another school in energy medicine, probably a good a good 15 years ago, so I knew I knew part of what I was searching for and what I wanted to connect with. But I didn't realize Dr. Lee that i i That was my journey I needed to really understand and to be trained in all of these various different dynamics of the physical body and the energy system.

Dr. Alice Lee:

Well, sounds to me like one of the key initiators for healing is changing one's mind lifestyle, we don't continue to live a life that doesn't feel authentic to us. And is very driven by very healthy expectations that we give to ourselves. The second thing that you seem to have alluded to is that we can't always be giving, giving, giving, going, going, going without receiving and nurturing ourselves. And that's really important for people to realize that there's no way to get around that you could be the smartest, most capable person walking on the planet. But if you don't pay attention to your body's needs for rest, and, you know, sense of security and safety, as opposed to feeling driven, and always in the fight or flight kind of response, and you don't give your body a chance to heal. You can do that gradually over time. Or you can get to a place where you can't go on anymore. And you have to stop and go do a 180 U turn, and do things differently. So your healing process obviously, gradually improved, and came back to you as you gave yourself time to heal. For those people who are listening to us, are there certain simple techniques that they can do, let's say something that is on the website or something that they can look up that they can use to kind of move them towards healing, that doesn't require them to kind of completely shift their whole life around in order to do that, can you share some some tools that they can use?

Unknown:

Dr. Lee, I have to share with you I'm so excited that you asked that question. And because the very first tool that I learned in energy medicine at the Academy of intuition, medicine, it's a technique called neutral separation and my desire, it should have been taught in chiropractic school. It should be taught to technique that should be taught to anybody within the service

Dr. Alice Lee:

industry. I'm all ears. I'm excited to hear what

Unknown:

why Yeah. What I realized is that we pick up a when we're in the service industry, if we're not mindful and conscious of the energy exchange that happens between two people, when you engage, you can indirectly start to carry the other person to energy. And if you add you know, two people if you add 10 people if you add 20 People were your current carrying their energy, it depletes your lifeforce energy. So, that technique is called neutral separations. And when you are depleting your lifeforce energy, obviously, you can set the stage for central nervous system dysfunction or dysregulation, or adrenal exhaustion, or a whole whole list of health complaint. Neutral separation is an opportunity at the end of the day, the way that I teach my clients, my patient is that they mindfully sit down at the end of the day, and a comfortable seated position and they place their hands with their palms facing outward. And they begin to imagine so let's just say that I saw 50 patients in a given day, I am going to see a collective bubble of those 50 people, I may also see the person that I enter interacted with at the grocery store, I may see the person that I interacted at the gas station, and oh, by the way, my family may be in another bubble. So I mindfully imagine that there's a stream of energy going from my hand out to this bubble of collective bubble of my faith 50 patient, and I just openly acknowledge and I give back their energy, any energy that we have shared during our encounters during that day. You can imagine a flow of white energy, you can imagine a rainbow you can imagine a laser you can imagine whatever you want to imagine, but it's a gift. It's an offering. Okay, so anytime somebody gives you a gift, Dr. Li, I don't know what your response is the mind like oh, you know, good. Somebody gave me a gift. I can't wait to open it up, you know, so they've lovingly received the energy coming back to them. And once you feel like that transfer of energy is complete, then you still keep your hands open, palms facing outward, and then you merely set the intention. Now I rightfully reach across and receive the information that rightfully belongs to me. So then you're receiving your lifeforce energy back. And I always invite in a train people to ground their energy back down to the earth so that they can cleanse that energy out there. Right. And then I asked them to come to closure, a separation of that exchange. So maybe you cut a cord or maybe you tie a bow or you you sever that connection. And then you basically bring your awareness doctorly back to yourself, and you say, You know what? Hey, I'm Mary. And I happen to be sitting, you know, I've got yoga pants on, I'm sitting on a white chair behind a black desk, and oh, yeah, I'm going to have turkey burgers for dinner tonight. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. So you bring it back to South. And what happened after you do that neutral separation, Dr. Lee is that you get rid of the looping thoughts. You're no longer thinking oh, Sally asked me to send her a new nutraceutical list, you're not thinking about Sally, or, Joe, I have to remember to contact Joe tomorrow, he forgot to make an appointment, those things then become less important. Because it's your energy coming back to you, it's your time to take care of whatever it is that you need to take care of for yourself.

Dr. Alice Lee:

Wow, that's a wonderful technique. And also, I appreciate you explaining some of the universal principles involved. Because when it comes to energy medicine, we know that intention, and visualization is very important. And and what you're trying to do is using positive intentions, and visualization to help you with that separation, I do feel that that's going to be really helpful for those people who are in the service industry, whether they are clinicians or not, there's so many people out there that interact with so many people and help so many people. And I think that they do get burned out, especially if that interaction might be negative coming from somebody else's, you know, having a bad day or something like that. You know, one thing that I find interesting is, as you were talking, I was thinking that one of the ways in which I've been innately protected as a clinician, over the course of my years of working with patients has been growing up with books. So when you read a book, you're very much immersed in the drama of what's happening in the book. And then when you're finished, for the day, you close the book. That's the story. And it's done. And the next day, if you want to go back to the book, you can go back to the book. And so that kind of activity, I think defines, in some ways, my interactions with patients, I'm very much immersed in working with the patients is very much what I'm focused on and motivated and doing. But at the end of the session, it's almost like the book closes. And I'm moving on to the next book, another person's beautiful story that I'm opening up and reading and being able to be involved in and being a part of the creative process.

Unknown:

Hmm, that's a beautiful visualization as well, I'm gonna have to try that. Thank you for sharing.

Dr. Alice Lee:

Yeah, I think it helps. And the other thing that I think is very important is when I do energy work, I try to connect my mind through my intentions to what I call life energy or infinite source of life energy. And when I do the energy work, I'm trying to work from that energy source directly to help the patient. So I am connected to that energy source. But I'm not trying to give a lot of my energy away to anyone. And I think that that can be very, very helpful for people to remember if they're involved in helping with other people to try to touch that source of energy, and ask that source to bring that additional energy into other people's lives to help heal them.

Unknown:

Very well put. And, again, I'll bring back then the importance of not merging energetically with another spirit. So that and is what you're describing and that that can be depleting of your lifeforce energy. And that defeats the whole purpose. In my training, there was a saying that when you hold sacred space for another healing, you get a healing and return. And so that knowing that, as you described Dr. Lee connecting into that infinite source, you know that your channel for that so that you then become rejuvenated, and your energy becomes heightened as well.

Dr. Alice Lee:

Interesting. Very good. I have some questions here that I wanted to ask him as start to close up. But I feel like this is a an important question. If you could summarize what the underlying causes of endocrine dysfunction might be, would you say that you could summarize it as just stress? Or is there some other thing that's unique to the endocrine system versus the neurological system?

Unknown:

I believe it simply comes down to a dysregulation of energy. Oh, okay. Because what you're asking is you're like, Okay, is it a separate issue? Is it an endocrine issue? Is that a neurological issue? Is it a fit, you know, it And I believe holistically that if there's a dysregulation of the energy system, then all of those levels will be ultimately affected. Unfortunately, that's just kind of how it works. Oh, wow. Or at least that's my experience.

Dr. Alice Lee:

Perfect. I'm glad that you mentioned that, because that does help clarify things for me that it's not like this system and that system and you kind of do things differently that when you're healing at the energy level, all systems will benefit from the energy flow that is unblocked and is allowed to flow and the rebalancing of those energies. So we don't have to be micromanaging

Unknown:

everything. And the healing ultimately goes all the way down to the cellular level. Right. So who are we to micromanage the cells?

Dr. Alice Lee:

Okay, sounds good. All right. So we've we've been talking for quite a while and I wanted to see, is there one maybe important clinical vignette that you wanted to share before we finish up?

Unknown:

Okay, so you have inspired me, you inspired me when I learned about your case study as you present and presented to the ASAP, which is the Association of comprehensive energy psychology. And I thought, Oh, I've cut some cases I'd like to prevent. And there is one lady, I'm gonna say that she's in her mid 60s. And she started seeing me because she was experiencing, she, unfortunately, was diagnosed with a blood cancer. She was going through the conventional route, but she had a background in psychotherapy. And she knew that there were some underlining issues, emotional issues that were of compromising her ability to heal herself. And so to make a long story short, and I don't have the specifics yet, Dr. Lee, but I will keep you informed, in that she goes in for a blood panel every year to measure the rate in which the gene mutation, the cancer genes are mutating. So within one year after being, she really I cannot take credit for this, but she was doing a lot of beautiful integrative therapy, psychotherapy, she was doing some functional nutrition, and she was doing energy work so holistically, but those some of those things started after she did to be fair, some of those things started after she had the blood panel, but she called me in a state of excitement. And said, Mary, I just want to share with you that my gene mutation rate went from 36, down to six in one year. And the energy system that we were focusing on primarily was the first chakra, the third chakra, and then creating a strong auric boundary for her own physical container. And then we did a lot of training on how to build up, you know, the, to connect with the grounding, to build up the lifeforce energy and to turn on the Kundalini energy and to contain it. And so she's very appreciative. She's excited about her healing journey. And that's something that I'd like to do a case study on.

Dr. Alice Lee:

Yeah, definitely, for sure. I think cancer, treatment, anything that could be helpful for cancer would be pioneering and very exciting and definitely should be shared with the general public. Thank you so much. And I really appreciate your wisdom that you've shared on our podcast today. I think that what I've taken away today is that the endocrine system, like any other system in our body responds to positive energy healing, and that there are many different techniques that we can use using intention visualization meditation, along with proper nutrition that will respond favorably to these interventions. And we should definitely endeavor to learn about these other tools if we want to continue to heal. So thank you so much for being on this podcast. Appreciate your, your words. Is there anything else that you wanted to say before we finish up our podcast today,

Unknown:

I just want to take a moment to express my gratitude to you and to let you know that I appreciate you as an individual. And I honor all that you stand for professionally because what you are the services that you are offering are greatly needed in today's world. So thank you for being here. And thank you to the listeners.

Dr. Alice Lee:

Thank you and likewise for you and I'm sure that we are all doing our best to share our light and try to help as much as we can and really appreciate you sharing your personal journey of healing too because that's really being open with audience. I I find that the, it's so common for holistic healers to have to go through a difficult time to be able to actually shift their mindset to a place where they can be

Dr. Alice Lee:

comfort in that I'm not the only one that had to go through a kind of the near death experience before I had to kind of, you know, come out of it. But I really, really appreciate the wonderful stories that you've shared, and I hope the audience has has also gained and benefited from our podcast. One thing I wanted to mention for those people who are looking for functional supports that on my website, there is a way that you can sign up for full script, which provides world class, high quality, nutritional supplements for them, so that they don't have to guess you know, which companies to use if they wanted to use some nutritional supports. So that's on my website. And for people who are interested in the additional information about me, my website is holistic psychiatrists.com. And on my website, you'll be able to hear all the podcasts. Dr. Mary, can you share with them how they can get a hold of you, if they wanted to contact you, please? Sure, the
