Discrimination - The insider's perspective (English audio)
Tập này chúng tớ thu âm bằng Tiếng Anh, các bạn có thể vào kênh Youtube của bọn mình để xem phụ đề tiếng Việt nhé.
The racism definition comes from how a person is being discriminated against because of the colour of their skin, their culture or their country of origin.
For centuries, we often think racism lies in the unfair treatment and oppression of people of color (including enslavement, segregation, internment, etc.).
But it’s much more than that.
It’s how Black people have to live in fear that their lives may be taken just like George Floyd.
It’s how Black people cannot even go to take out the trash in front of their house and not get shot, even if it’s just a kid.
It’s going to be a long, dreadful battle. But to create an equal society for everyone despite their skin colour or any other elements, we must commit to making unbiased choices and fight against any racism in every aspect of our lives.
Being racist or antiracist is not about who you are; it is about what you do.
In this episode, our host Tra My will interview Adeoye Davies, who has had unpleasant experiences of being discriminated against because of the colour of his skin. His story will give us an insightful view of how a Black people work and live in England and being discriminated against in the 21st century, where he could have been treated differently had his skin been different.
