Episode 91 – The Ten Re-Commandments
Tonight on Wobbly Player Syndrome, the crew lays down their tablets of wisdom for Warhammer 40K’s 10th Edition. We bring forward a longtime podcast friend's ideas on their “10 re-commandments” — ideas, tweaks, and improvements that could sharpen the rules, smooth the gameplay, or make the game more enjoyable. Expect laughs, debate, and the occasional heretical suggestion as we carve out our vision for a better 10th.
1) Codex-specific objectives.
2) Fewer shots and fewer attacks in the shooting and fight phase.
3) Only reroll 1s
4) Better moral rules.
5) Overwatch back to 12 inches.
6) Charge phase double 1s always fail. Double 6s give a bonus.
7) Vehicles. Firing arcs returned
8) Bring back terrain effects. Hazardous terrain and movement restrictions.
9) Unit leaders need to be important again.
10) Maybe the most contentious suggestion...charge distance bonus or negative based on base movement. Movement 1-3" (-1), 4-8 no modifier, 9+" (+1). Faster units should be better at charging
