A­Clarke­County­jury is­scheduled­to­hear­a capital­murder­case­during­next­week’s­criminal trial­week, ­set­to­begin on­May­13. ­According­to court­records, ­David Demetrius­Taylor, ­50, ­of Jackson,­is­scheduled­to appear­in­the­courtroom of­Circuit­Court­Judge Robert­Montgomery­for his­role­in­the­murder­of Thearthor­Dixon­of Thomasville­in­2021. At­the­time­of­the crime,­Clarke­County investigators­reported finding­Dixon­shot­to death­and­lying­beside his­log­truck­on Waterway­Road, ­a­dirt road­off­Walker­Springs Road­east­of­Jackson. Information­that­was released­in­the­case­indicated­that­Dixon­had likely­gone­to­the­secluded­site­to­meet­others about­the­possibility­of­a job.­According­to­information­released­in­the case,­Dixon­was­reported to­have­been­shot­several times­and­died­at­the scene;­his­body­was found­by­a­worker­at­a nearby­gravel­pit. ­Court records­indicate­that robbery­was­the­likely cause­of­the­crime. Two­people­who­were identified­as­having­been Taylor’s­accomplices were­identified­as Hikeem­Lamont Edmond­and­Kylyn Debroderick­Taylor. ­The pair­was­arrested­by Montgomery­Police­the day­after­the­murder­in Jackson.­At­the­time­of their­arrests, ­Edmond and­K. ­Taylor­were charged­with­robbing­a Dollar­General­store, kidnapping­a­person, and­robbing­another person­at­a­different location.­The­two­are also­reported­to­have­led Montgomery­police­in­a high-speed­chase­that ended­when­their­car crashed­into­a­police vehicle. Only­one­case­is shown­as­being­scheduled­for­the­docket­for Circuit­Judge­Perry Newton,­which­is Timothy­Mark­Crump Jr.,­who­was­charged with­first degree­sexual abuse­in­2022. Other­actions­taken­by the­Clarke­County Circuit­Court­this­week included­the­pre trial hearings­for­Antonio Darnell­Foxx, ­28, ­and Travis­Santel­Lucas, ­43, of­Pine­Hill, ­held­May­6.
