David Coleman deShazo, of Mobile, died peacefully with his family by his side Aug. 21, 2025, at the age of 75. Born Aug. 4, 1950, David grew up in Jackson. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1968 and later from The University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in social work. He earned his master’s degree in 1979. David worked in the field of social work in Mobile and Tuscaloosa over 30 years. He was proud of his work in rural south Alabama, where he traveled educating people living with HIV.
