Does your business look great on paper, but your work-life balance and peace at home feel off?
I’m so glad you’re here.
The Faithful Agent is a podcast for real estate agents who want to grow a successful business without burning out or losing what matters most. This show helps you build real estate systems and structure that put you back in control of your time—so you can grow your income, stay present at home, and experience real peace in business.
Inside the podcast, you’ll learn how to:
- Build systems and leverage that help you sell more homes without working more hours
- Create predictable income for realtors so financial pressure doesn’t follow you home
- Replace burnout and the real estate grind with intentional, faith-driven business growth
The goal isn’t just becoming a more successful realtor.
It’s building a business and schedule you actually enjoy now—not someday—one that lets you win at work without losing what matters most.
Hey, I’m Garrett—husband, dad of five, and high-producing real estate agent.
For years, I chased the industry’s definition of success—more deals, more money, more recognition—while quietly missing family dinners and date nights. I was productive, but I was becoming a burned-out realtor, and my faith and peace were taking a back seat.
I realized that if I wanted real freedom in this business, I couldn’t just work harder—I needed a solid framework, better structure, and smarter real estate systems.
So I built a plan that honored my faith and my family, not just my production goals. A few simple, intentional strategies allowed me to grow my business, sell a high volume of homes, and still be present at the dinner table every night.
Now, through realtor coaching and this podcast, I help other real estate agents do the same.
If you’re ready to build structure that honors God—so your business can grow while your family still gets the best of you—you’re in the right place.
So grab your coffee, dust off that Bible, and let’s dive in.

238 | Faithful Five: Why Your Identity Is Not Defined by Your Last Sale
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
The real estate industry has conditioned agents to tie their worth to production. We chase closings, crave recognition, and ride the emotional rollercoaster of the next lead. But here’s the truth: your identity was never meant to be built on numbers, commissions, or scoreboards. Long before your first transaction, your value was already secure in Christ. In this episode of The Faithful Agent Podcast, Garrett Maroon reminds listeners that real estate is what you do—not who you are.
This conversation is a direct challenge to the culture of performance that dominates the industry. Many real estate agents measure success by their most recent result, allowing wins to inflate their confidence and losses to define their worth. Garrett exposes how this mindset fuels burnout, comparison, and emotional instability. For christian realtors seeking clarity, peace, and freedom, this episode re-centers everything around biblical truth: your identity is rooted in who God says you are, not in what you produce.
Garrett speaks candidly about how easily agents drift into believing that sales equal significance. The scoreboard becomes a mirror for self-worth. But Scripture tells a different story. You are not your commission. You are not your last deal. You are a child of God. When your identity is anchored in Christ, business becomes a platform for stewardship rather than a measure of value.
This episode is especially powerful for agents who feel exhausted by the real estate grind or emotionally tied to every transaction. Garrett invites listeners to separate performance from purpose, reminding them that work is a calling—not a source of validation. When you build a faith driven business, your confidence flows from obedience, not outcomes.
You’ll hear insight on:
- Why the industry’s obsession with production distorts identity
- How chasing recognition leads to emotional highs and crushing lows
- Why your worth was established long before your first closing
- How anchoring your identity in Christ creates stability and peace
- Why comparison steals joy and clarity
- How realtor systems should serve your calling, not replace it
- Why obedience matters more than applause
Garrett also addresses the internal battle many agents face after a slow month or a lost deal. The temptation is to question your competence, your value, or even your calling. But when your identity is grounded in truth, setbacks lose their power to define you. Instead of spiraling into insecurity, you’re able to respond with wisdom, humility, and perseverance.
If you’ve ever found yourself measuring your worth by your last sale, your current pipeline, or your place on a leaderboard, this message will reorient your heart. Your identity is not something you earn—it’s something you receive. When you live from that truth, your work becomes lighter, your focus becomes clearer, and your peace becomes unshakeable.

Today I want to speak to the agent who feels like they're only as valuable as their last deal. Like your character and worth is determined by your GCI and the number of transactions you've done. The truth is the real estate industry has conditioned us to tie our worth to production. We chase closings, we crave recognition, and we ride the emotional roller coaster of the next deal. But here's the truth. You are not your numbers. You're not your commission checks. You're not your latest scoreboard. You are a child of God. And faithful agent, your identity was secure long before you ever sold a house. Real estate is what you do. It's not who you are. The reality is performance based identity is addictive and it's dangerous. It creates this cycle of needing the next win to feel okay, making failure feel like personal collapse. I don't know about you, but there's been too many times in my business where when my pipeline was full, I felt really good about my character. But when my pipeline wasn't full, I started to think maybe there was something wrong with me. Because when we over identify with our success, it leads to the fear of failure and it absolutely leads to burnout. When our identity is on the line with every deal, risk feels impossible and rest feels unsafe. But a Christ-centered identity, what does it actually look like in business? It means operating from a place of rest, a place of humility. a place of confidence, not performance, pride, or panic. Jesus tells us in Matthew 11 28, come to me all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. You don't get that rest after you hit a number. You get it because of who he is. And I get it. I lived this. I let production define me. I grew a bigger business. I grew a bigger team. I earned more money. And truthfully, in the eyes of the industry, I succeeded. All of it was for naught. I was still anxious, afraid, and exhausted. Now I build differently, on purpose, for the glory of the Lord not to please man. Now, yes, I still struggle like we all do, but it's been a shift. I seek to please the Lord, not to please others. And you can do the same. Agent, you are not just as valuable as your last deal. If you are in Christ, you are infinitely valuable. so much so that the Lord Himself sent His only Son to die on a cross to save you from your sin so you could be in eternal communion with the Father. Your identity was secure long before you ever sold a house. Work from that identity, not for that identity. If this hit you, I hope you subscribe to the show. Leave us a five-star review. Send this to a friend or listen to the full episode on this topic while you're still hustling like it's 2016. The link is in the show notes, but I want to leave you with this question. Where have you allowed your performance to shape your identity more than God's promises have? I love you, faithful agents. I will see you next time.
