When watching the Superbowl in 2011, I realized that the stadium was filled with corporate managers, people who had never watched football a day before in their life, rarely clapping and just speaking. You could also hear faint clapping through the announcers microphone, indicating that there may have been just 1000 real fans at the game out of tens of thousands.
This is corporate entertainment and it leaves a tremendous stain on American football.
