About Roddy Doyle: Roddy is the author of 11 highly acclaimed novels including The Commitments, The Snapper, and The Van. He has written two collections of short stories, The Deportees and Other Stories,  and Bullfighting, along with four plays, two screenplays and a memoir about his parents, Rory and Ita. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including The BAFTA Award (Best Adapted Screenplay) for The Commitments, (1991), the Booker Prize for Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha (1993), The Irish PEN award (2009), the French Literary Award for The Snapper (2011) and Bord Gáis Energy Book of the Year for The Guts (2013). Roddy’s most recent novel, Love, has been serialised as a Book of The Week for BBC Radio Four.
