The Prescott Police Department is participating in the national “Click It or Ticket” seat belt enforcement campaign from May 18 through May 31, 2026. This high-visibility enforcement effort is part of a nationwide initiative focused on increasing seat belt use and reducing traffic-related injuries and fatalities.

With grant funding from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, Prescott Police Traffic Safety Officers will conduct additional patrols throughout the city during the campaign period. Officers will focus on identifying unrestrained drivers and passengers, with an emphasis on education and voluntary compliance. The goal is not just enforcement but preventing serious injuries and saving lives.

Seat belts remain one of the most effective safety features in any vehicle. Consistent use greatly reduces the risk of injury or death in a crash, yet some motorists still choose not to wear them. Prescott Police are reminding drivers and passengers to make seat belt use a habit every time they get into a vehicle.

The Prescott Police Department remains committed to keeping our roadways safe through education and high-visibility enforcement. Drivers can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence throughout the campaign.
