CAFMA Crews Save Chino Valley Home From Fire

On Sunday, May 10, 2026, at approximately 3:39 p.m., the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) responded to a reported tree fire with extension to a home in the area of Windsong Way and West Road 3 North in Chino Valley. The fire started while a propane torch was being used outdoors to burn weeds. Wind conditions caused the fire to spread rapidly into nearby shrubs and the corner of the home. Thanks to the decisive actions of Engine 61, the first crew on scene, Captain Buchanan and his firefighters were able to stop the fire before it spread...
