Yavapai Emergency Management is proud to recognize August as Emergency Management Awareness Month, highlighting the important work that goes on every day to help protect our communities before, during, and after emergencies. When people think of emergencies, they often picture first responders arriving on scene. While firefighters, law enforcement, and Emergency Medical Service (EMS) play a critical role, emergency management works behind the scenes long before an incident occurs – and continues long after it ends.
