Laura:
Welcome back everyone. And thank you so much for tuning in today to the Home Care Pod. You're here with your home care ladies. I'm Laura.

Audra:
And I'm Audra.

Laura:
Hey lady. How have things been for you?

Audra:
Things have been going well. It's hard to think for things not to go well, it's so beautiful here right now. Yeah, we're doing well. We're humming, man. We've we've been busy this week, Laura. [crosstalk 00:00:38] You just got back from vacation.

Laura:
Yeah, it was a quick little vacation getaway, but it's good to be back and helping people. So, [crosstalk 00:00:48] well today we're going to be discussing successes and making perfect matches between clients and caregivers. It's something we pride ourselves on and we always guarantee that match.

Audra:
I think it's something that really differentiates us from other home care agencies, honestly. To us, it truly is personal. And we know that with a perfect match, we have a long standing relationship. Happy clients equal happy caregivers, which makes our whole organization happy all around.

Laura:
(laughs).

Audra:
So lady, why don't you tell me how we're successful in making that match?

Laura:
Sure, absolutely. From the moment that a loved one or a potential client calls, those of us that are taking those inquiries seek to gain as much information as possible about that client. So, we're asking all sorts of questions, like: what did they do for a living? What are their needs? What would... Really, anything that would allow us to make the match with the perfect care team. Then, when we go out for the care consultation, we do the same thing. Most of the time is spent just really getting to know the client. We ask about daily routines, we ask about favorite foods, restaurants, all sorts of things to let us know who's going to work well with them. Spending that extra time to get to know the clients though, is just half of the equation. Audra, tell us about how we learn about our caregivers.

Audra:
So our caregivers, we kind of do a similar process, but in more of an interview setting. So, we spend time during our caregiver phone screens and interviews, just asking each of our candidates who they are and about them. We really want to get to know them. Learn their heart, what they love, what they enjoy doing, what their backgrounds are. We ask them all sorts of questions about their past experience caring, and where they grew up. Just the various things that will give us a better understanding of who this person is. Because at the end of the day, ultimately, we're going to take that information and put it together to match with our clients.

Laura:
Absolutely. Cause we've had great successes in the sense of "Oh my mom's not going to let anyone in her home. She's an old school New Yorker and she just is not that way". And then we find a caregiver who is also from New York and it's like, they were best friends from way back. So it really does work. So, when we come back to the office, we really utilize technology to make that happen. All the information that's gathered is programmed into our computer system. So we know if a caregiver meets the criteria necessary to help that client. For example, if a client has a cat, but the caregiver is allergic to cats, they won't match in the system. So, it's just a way to work smarter and not harder. So lady, what does it mean when we say that we guarantee the match?

Audra:
Well guarantee the match is one of my favorite things to start with. We're really good at that. We rarely have situations when a client says that the caregiver's not the perfect match, but in the event that that does happen, we just try again. It's one of those things that is a benefit of using a home care agency, rather than hiring someone privately. You really have a more amazing pool of people to pick from. And if you don't get it right the first time, there's other folks that we can try and rarely does it take very long to get it right.

Laura:
That's right. We get calls all the time that said "I don't know how you found that person, but they have this and that in common". And, and sometimes it's things we didn't even know and it just kind of works itself out. Or we've heard stories of people that we bring a caregiver over and come to find out they lived in the same neighborhood growing up as the potential client. So, it's a really cool thing. But, we're always looking for more great people to be those caregivers. So if you're listening and you're looking for work, and have a heart to help the senior population, please give us a call. Or maybe you're looking for that perfect match in a caregiver. So call us today and we have that match for you.

Audra:
Thanks lady.

Laura:
Yeah, that was fun. Thanks for tuning in everyone. And we will talk to you soon.

Audra:
Bye.
