Darlings, the spookiest time of year is upon us. And we need you to write in to Romanistan with your scariest stories. Now, darling, I don't want to hear poetry or fiction or anything you made up in the recesses of your mind. No, no. I want your first hand accounts of ghosts, goblins, ghouls, family curses, cryptids, urban legends, aliens. I want to hear your most delightfully dark and scary stories. They can be cute, they can be terrifying, but we want your first hand encounters. Now, we need you to send these by October 5th. It's very important. You can write an email, please, not too long. We are only but mortals. Five minutes talks, please. Write us an email telling us your encounter. It's okay if it happened to your auntie or your bestie, but we love it when it happened to you. Or you can send in a voice memo very clear. Again, five minutes or less, telling us your spookiest tale for spooky season. Because we are having another annual spooky story Romaniston event. We're your friendly neighborhood gypsies. I'm Paulina. And I'm Jez. And we are here with your September 2026 reading for the month. And we have the King of Pentacles for Love. How are you feeling about that, Paulina?

Oh, the King of Pentacles for Love. It's a very masculine savior. Also, you are the King of Pentacles. And so like you are embracing this and it's grounding. And this love is rooted in growth and understanding. And it could be with somebody new. Like, remember, this is for September. So this is kind of a little bit of a weird month because it's not very festive, but like it low-key is. Like we're preparing for the end of the year, which is super freaking crazy. I can't even believe that right now. But I think it's about preparing for love in a way that's about grounding in order to prepare you literally for the end of the year. Like you need to be grounded and you need to be embracing that masculinity, I would say.

Yeah, I really love thinking of the King of Pentacles as nice dad energy. And that could be of any gender, you know, the sense of just like taking care of things, uh the kind of nurturing that feels practical and tangible as well as kind and emotional. And whether you are embodying daddy energy or you're looking for someone who is of any gender again. I feel like the King of Pentacles is really speaking to the desire uh to be in relationship with people, whether it's friends or uh lovers, where people are doing what they say they're gonna do and saying what they are planning to do. And like the follow-through is sexy, responsibility is sexy, it's sexy. Oh my gosh. Um I'm struggling. Responsibility is sexy. We're in Virgo season, so we we have this like strong earth energy where it's just like, yeah, we're sharing calendars, and that's how we know we love each other. Because you're really trying to build something real. And so I feel like this is a good month if you're thinking about how to embody the King of Pentacles in relationships, is just being clear and concrete and spending quality time with people and committing acts of service, and also noticing if you are in relationship with people who can reciprocate that energy, if you are connected to people who are flaky or not transparent, or they have no follow-through, or you feel like you never really know what they're thinking, that might not be the right vibe for you. I think in general, that kind of stuff. I'm too old for all of that. It makes me tired. But you know, like really being in connection with people who are stable and can reciprocate that for you. Then
we have the five of swords for money. Um, yeah, how are you feeling about that? This makes me want to throw up. Yeah, I don't love it either.

No, you don't want to be like scared about money or anxious about money, but this is definitely a card of anxiety.

Yeah, I also feel like it's uh like such a fucking letdown. Like, why do we have to pull this one out? Like, fuck that. You're like, I'm not ready for this. For real. Like, I think so. Swords in general are just representative of some conflict and misunderstanding and not saying eye to eye. So there's that, but I think that even has to do with like our own relationship to money. And I have also been feeling this and like experiencing this. You know, where do we where are we spending our money? Like, where is it even going? And what is even happening? And who are we giving it to? Also, being really conscious about every single fucking thing that you are buying. Are you supporting bad companies? Are you doing this? You might be just because you're probably living in a society that wasn't built for you and that was like completely built by all the millionaires and just like all this stuff. So I also feel like when it comes to money, it's also, I think we talk about this, like it's also deeply rooted in that purpose and emotion. So there's something that's not quite adding up, like when it comes to finances. So my advice would be to kind of like sit back and settle down and like ride it out and know in your mind, like this is temporary, or I'm gonna pass this. And if something happens and it's not so good financially, like it's okay. Like, trust the universe and it'll be taken care of eventually. Like maybe there was too much over here, maybe there was too much over there, or maybe it's just that you have to like fucking ride it out. Like that's it. Like, just do your best. You know what I mean?

Yeah, I think some things that can help if you are feeling anxious about money, or even if you're not, and you just want to see how you can work with the energy this month in a purposeful way, is to make sure that you're really transparent about where your money is going. Like you were saying, you might want to do an audit of all of your accounts and make sure you're not paying for two subscriptions or you're had no idea you were still paying for Netflix when you don't even watch it, you know, like and so definitely going through and making sure that you know where your money's going. If you are avoidant about money, taking the first step to do what you can to come to terms with what you need to do to get yourself in good standing. So we just released an episode with Krista McClellan. If you haven't heard it, we definitely recommend it. She's a bookkeeper and she goes all into how we work through our fears around money because it really does save us a lot of money if we know what's going on. And taking whatever action you can to be transparent about your own abundance and your spending habits, if you find that you tend to spend money emotionally or you spend money to feel a certain way, to feel like you have enough, um, that's definitely something to examine. And there are resources like Debtors Anonymous that are free that you can join to try to work through money things. There are money coaches out there. I really like the money witch. I think she she's really cool. Jesse Susanna, Karnats. And yeah, just see what it's like to do a little financial healing if it's something that brings up fear for you.
And then lastly, we have the Knight of Pentacles for guidance. What do you feel like the Knight of Pentacles is telling us about this month?

And like keep going. And the Knight of Pentacles also represents maybe not feeling like you're all the way there yet, but you know that it's coming or like you're you're actually doing something that's worth it. I feel like the previous readings were more about kind of like finding your path, finding your way, planting the seeds, like doing all this stuff. And now it's about kind of like turning the soil and like doing this and doing that. And you know what I mean? Like it's like you who are bored. Like you're at the peak right now, like you're at the highest change point, and you just have to keep your however they say your ducks in a row and stuff like that. I love ducks.

Yeah, the Knight of Pentacles makes me think about being on a mission, on a journey. If you have a to-do list for this month, maybe it would feel good to steadily check things off or in some way measure your progress or think about what your goals and priorities are. If you are anything like me, you might overdo it on the to-do list, like have things that you couldn't possibly do in a month listed as though you're supposed to do all of them. So if you are like me, I always recommend maybe don't. And um, and just yeah, think about what you can realistically do this month without stressing yourself out, considering all the things that you need to do. And the nights represent growth and a mission and being on your journey and on your path and well on your way. But the pentacles remind us that maybe we're especially focusing on that with health, wealth, home, abundance, and all of the tangible things that make up your life. And so if you have some goals, especially around those areas, which fits so well with Virgo season, which is so connected to you know, home and hearth and your own body and health and wellness and everything that's concrete. Um, yeah, it feels like it it matches the season. It's also kind of back to school energy, whether or not that pertains to you. You might have a kind of body memory of being like, okay, I gotta get my my pencil organizer already, my trapper keeper. So, like, yeah, it might feel good to get organized for the fall.
