On a hot summer night, years of police harassment aimed at young trans and gay sex workers boiled over when the queer community fought back against their oppressors. This event in San Francisco, three years prior to Stonewall, was almost purposefully forgotten to history. Thankfully, elders and filmmakers came forward to share the stories of what happened that night, and we reflect on that importance while also mourning every other riot, protest, or fight that has been lost to time.
