American Civil War & UK History
**American Civil War & UK History Podcast**
The podcast was born on December 26th, 2020, and I have always been passionate about history from a young age. My interest in the American Civil War began in 2004 after watching the movie *Gettysburg*. Since then, my passion for this topic has only grown. Although I don't live in America and cannot easily access the Civil War battlefields, I reside in the beautiful county of Kent, known as the Garden of England. Kent has a rich history, which has also fueled my fascination with UK history. This inspired the name of my podcast, *American Civil War & UK History*.
While I have a general love for all history, I realized I had confined myself to specific topics. To expand my discussions, I created two other podcasts in 2024: *For the Passion of History*, where I explore various historical subjects that interest me, and *The Figures of the American Civil War*, focusing on the remarkable individuals of that period.
The goal of my platforms is to share my passion for history with like-minded individuals. Cheers,
Daz

The Maryland Campaign With (Tim willing)
In this episode of American Civil War & UK History, Podcast Daz was joined by historian Tim Willging to discuss the Maryland Campaign.
The Maryland campaign took place from September 4 to 20, 1862. After winning the northern Virginia campaign, General Lee led 55,000 men north through the Shenandoah Valley. Confederate Major General Stonewall Jackson surrounded, bombarded, and captured Harpers Ferry from September 12 to 15. Meanwhile, General McClellan's army of 102,000 men tried to move quickly through the South Mountain passes that separated them from Lee, leading to the Battle of South Mountain.
