Kardio-Know-How

Ep.214. Które z kardiologicznych leków redukują całkowitą śmiertelność?

Witam Państwa, nazywam się Jarosław Drożdż, pracuję w Centralnym Szpitalu Klinicznym Uniwersytetu Medycznego w Łodzi, skąd nagrywam podcast Kardio Know-How. W tym odcinku tworzę listę kardiologicznych leków, które redukują całkowitą śmiertelność:

The cardiovascular drugs that are known to reduce total mortality include:

Beta-blockers: These agents reduce all-cause mortality in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and after myocardial infarction, as demonstrated in multiple randomized controlled trials and meta-analyses. The American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and Heart Rhythm Society specifically recommend bisoprolol, carvedilol, and sustained-release metoprolol succinate for mortality reduction in HFrEF.

Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors: ACE inhibitors significantly reduce all-cause mortality in patients with hypertension, heart failure, and after myocardial infarction. The American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and Heart Rhythm Society endorse their use for mortality reduction in HFrEF.

Mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (MRAs): Spironolactone and eplerenone reduce all-cause mortality in patients with HFrEF and after acute coronary syndromes with left ventricular dysfunction. This is supported by the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and Heart Rhythm Society.

Angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitors (ARNIs): Sacubitril/valsartan has demonstrated mortality reduction in HFrEF compared to ACE inhibitors.

Statins: Statins reduce all-cause mortality in patients with established atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Diuretics: Thiazide-type diuretics reduce all-cause mortality in hypertensive patients, as shown in meta-analyses.

SGLT2 inhibitors: In patients with HFrEF, sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (e.g., dapagliflozin, empagliflozin) reduce all-cause and cardiovascular mortality.
