Show Notes

The Local Lens is a public health podcast going inside one community's experience with the drug epidemic. Everyone in the town of Stanton, KY sees this drug issue differently from each other, either because of their personal lives or professional roles. This show aims to showcase those different perspectives through having honest, in-depth interviews with a new guest each episode.

Our local Judge Executive, James Anderson, joins the show for this episode to specifically cover the financial impact of addiction on our community. From his seat, he sees the connections of all the county's governmental activity better than anyone else. As a result, he sees how much of our limited resources available go towards addiction.

His call is not to stop addressing addiction, but rather to seek for ways to truly reduce the presence of addiction in Powell County in the first place, and to call more people to care about the issue. He explains how it really does impact everyone in our town and how it is truly every person living here.

These are our people, using our voices, telling our stories, because no one sees it like we do.
