Brad Epperson - A Societal Issue
Show Notes

The Local Lens is a public health podcast going inside one community's experience with the drug epidemic. Everyone in the town of Stanton, KY sees this drug issue differently from each other, either because of their personal lives or professional roles. This show aims to showcase those different perspectives through having honest, in-depth interviews with a new guest each episode.

This episode dives into some theoretical discussion with the legendary Brad Epperson, a preacher from Clay City. Brad also works at the county's detention center, helping with the Substance Abuse Program. This experience in the jail let him get to know some of the guys who struggle with addiction, seeing what is going on in their heads.

Over the years, he has noticed some shifts in our society, so this episode dives as far into that topic as thirty minutes would let us. Maybe there is a crisis of masculinity. Maybe our communities are loosening. Maybe we have let spirituality fall from importance over the generations.  We do not claim to have answers, but we have some ideas.

We do believe we are dealing with a societal issue, and if that is true, then we all bear a responsibility to seek restoration.  These are our people, using our voices, telling our stories, because no one sees it like we do.
