Do you have problems getting motivated? What about getting your kids or students motivated? A lack of motivation is a problem we've all faced. When confronting kids with tasks they don't want to do, how do we motivate them? Today, Lauren discusses how to motivate yourself and your kids.
Motivation is not just will power. It involves biology and a person’s memory as well. Getting students to do what you ask also involves their emotional state. Having them in the right emotional state makes them more likely to say yes. Lauren walks through ways to change emotional states such as: listening to music, walking, and stretching.
She also discusses the two types of motivation (intrinsic and extrinsic), ways to use them, and the benefits of explaining why what you are asking them to do fuels motivation.
