Teacher Questions - Pt. 1
Apr 10, 2023 Season 3 Episode 14
Lauren Spigelmyer

Today is the first episode in a mini-series of teacher questions. Lauren reached out to different school districts and teachers for a list of their most pressing questions to answer. While these were asked by teachers there is a lot of information that relates to parents and other caregivers so don’t miss this episode.

Today’s Listener Questions:

  • How do you de-escalate a child who is losing composure?
  • How do we reduce stress, trauma, and negative behavior triggers?
  • How technology use affects stress?
  • How long can it take to “reprogram” the brain after major stress/trauma events (such as the pandemic)?
  • What are the best practices, or strategies, to help students who’ve experienced trauma?
  • Are young people likely more stressed by the pandemic than adults?
  • Is it better to teach in a way that assumes all children have experienced trauma?
  • Is learning to cope with stress as good as eliminating stress?
