Show Notes Transcript

The regular Mind of Snaps podcast is on a hiatus still, but I'm working on bringing it back. There ARE still more podcasts available on my Mind of Snaps Youtube channel, but they just haven't found their way here yet.

I will be releasing Positivity Podcasts from my Patreon here on a daily basis for at least the next two weeks. I'm doing my part to put out as much positive and encouraging content as I can during these intense times we're faced with.

This is my fourth Positivity Podcast on the Patreon and I hope at the very least it can bring a bit of perspective into your day.

"Each mindful action I take creates new positive opportunities in my life."

This is the affirmation I shared in the original Positivity Podcast.

The format for these podcasts definitely evolved over time, but I hope you enjoy listening, even though times have changed.

Listen, and let me know your thoughts.

Hang in there friends, we're all in this together.

good morning, friends today or I guess, you know Good evening. Good afternoon. Whatever it is for you today, it is March 19th the Thursday 2020 and, as I've promised, releasing another positivity podcasts from way back when this one today's is actually from June 4th, 2018. And I really like this one. I think that you might enjoy it as well, especially given the situation that we're all in. We talk about an affirmation that I think it would definitely be helpful to bring into your own life today. Ah, some notes that I noticed when I went back and re listen to it, I referenced speaking for the first time at Guardian Con in Tampa. This was when it was still in Tampa. And just so you know, it went really well that particular year. I spoke for almost 90 minutes without any notes, and I felt very proud, really grateful. You can still watch that video if you go to the twitch Rare Drop channel and that's twitch dot tv slash rare drop. I believe he used to be rare Drop Co, but I think it's just rare Drop now. I'll double check and include the link in the description below. Um, so that's one thing, Thio point out, that actually did go through. Um, And then another thing I wanted to point out is in the podcast I talk about, you know, making time for social time. I know right now that's one of the things that everyone's craving the most, and we don't have the easiest access to it. But please still call your friends, use FaceTime, hang out in the chill channel in our discord, just in case anyone wants to chat. Let's do our bus to be there for each other, even if we can't be there physically, right? And do your bust to tell your mind the story of I'm grateful I can at least talk to people. I'm grateful that I still have the opportunity to reach out in these ways, because I know it's very easy to get in the mind set of. I am a person who needs to be around other people. But we got to be careful with the stories we're telling ourselves. You know, that is certainly a valuable part of our human existence, but I don't know that I would agree that It's an absolute need, especially when it's something that we can work with our mind sets on. You know, you still have the ability to have that connection with people, and the sooner everyone starts staying home. And, you know, we can kind of move this process along. The sooner things can go back to or become whatever our new normal is after this. So please remember, stay home. This is not this podcast is not an encouragement to go out and be amongst people. Limit your small gatherings. Um, you know, social distancing is still super super crucial, But call a friend even if it's one you haven't talked to in a long time. Call a friend. Call a family member due. Those face times have the discord. Movie nights. Um, there's no need to fully isolate with all of these abilities that we have today to be so connected. So keep that in mind and be kind to yourselves. Today. Make sure you're stretching. Make sure your drinking water eating as clean as you can so that it can help you to stay feeling strong and healthy. And I hope that you enjoy this week's or this past positivity. Five guests have a great day friends by Good Morning and happy Monday. It is another beautiful day here in the Chicago area. I really hope the weather near you is lovely as well. It's 75 degrees sunny, it's got a little breeze. It's perfect today for our positivity podcast. I wanted to discuss creating positive opportunities in our own lives, so our affirmation for today is each mindful. Action I take creates new positive opportunities in my life. Let's say it again together and really think about the meaning behind it. Each mindful action I take creates new positive opportunities in my life. When I hear this quote, I'm reminded of how I felt when I first started working on my mental health daily by establishing a good morning routine. I was feeling suck and I just wanted to start feeling like I was making progress towards my goals. I hadn't quite thought about the fact that I didn't really know what my goals were at the time, so trying to work towards them was pretty challenging. I had some basic goals, sure, but I didn't really have much thought process behind them. Aside from the financial aspect. For example, just one of these on switch. I've been trying to hit 1000 subscribers for a pretty long time. It was very important to me at first because I just kept thinking about how much more I could do in my life if only I had a more consistent paycheck. This isn't untrue. Necessarily. The more money I have, the more I can use that money to accomplish the things I want. However, money isn't the only thing that will allow me to accomplish my overall goals. There will be a ton of hard work and studying to get me through each step that will eventually bring me closer towards my uncles. So on this beautiful first Monday of a new month, let's think big picture first and then start working towards every step that will get us there. What do you want to do with your life? Really? What do you want to d'oh for me? I want to help people. It may seem like a very, very general goal, but it does allow me to prioritize my tests and my plans based on what will allow me to help others now and in the future, So if you're sitting here thinking, Damn, I have no idea what I even want to do. That's actually not a bad thing. It means you get to do a really fun thing and start learning about yourself. Pursue your passions, trying to creative outlets. Do whatever it takes to figure out the things that make you happy, because those might spark the idea that gives you your life, goal or purpose. Once you have it, start working towards it by working on yourself. This concept always seems to shock people at first. Wait. You mean I should be working on myself right now? Because shouldn't I be doing X, Y and Z for my career? Well, you can do bowls. The benefits of working on yourself will show up in your actual work, too. That's why I picked this affirmation I've noticed in my daily life. Every time I do a little bit more for myself, I feel better, more energized, more optimistic, more ready to jump at the first opportunity I see or create a new one. Each mindful action I take creates new positive opportunities in my life. Another great example of this is my mental health streams. I've been doing them for a long time now, but I wasn't even really working on myself for most of them. It was just a way for us all to communicate and be open with each other and ourselves about how we were really feeling. Once I started putting in some work toe, learn about how to make them more effective. I wound up realizing I should apply these things that I've learned to myself first, to see if they actually work. I did. They did. And lo and behold, the five steps to better mental health were created. My mental health streams took on a new format. Everything has changed. I keep working on myself and the things I struggle with and as a result I noticed that I'm getting better at moving past them. I have found and created numerous opportunities in my field and in the mental health world, all because I worked on myself and started seeing things differently as a result. Now I'm thrilled to have more mental health. Resource is being created for the mind of Snaps website, and I am incredibly excited to do a mental health presentation at Guardian Con in Tampa next month. If I hadn't been working on myself and doing mindfulness and mental health training, I wouldn't have thought of this as an opportunity. Nor would I have had the courage to go out and ask for it. I swear it sounds so silly at times. But trust me when I say If you're feeling lost, start with yourself. If you're craving new opportunities, focus on you and what makes you happy. Remember, you are truly capable of anything. Truly. You just have to trust yourself and your ability to get shit done. That doesn't mean you have to do it alone. But knowing yourself and your strengths and weaknesses better may also allow you to know what you need to outsource and what work you can take on by yourself, both professionally and when you're with your own mental health. So remember today each mindful action you take will create new positive opportunities in your life. Believe it, will it make it so We are no longer a community of people trying to live our best lives or trying to make a difference. We are a community that will achieve all of our goals in a community that will make a difference. Wishing, hoping, trying None of these serve us, saying I can't will ensure that you definitely can't today. Make it a goal to stop saying those words, or at least correct yourself quickly. When you hear yourself say it or see yourself, type it. You can do anything. You will do great things. You are capable. The Onley thing you can't do is give up. If you only do one mindful action today, make it that conscious effort to change your language. If you really want to make the most of this Monday, use it to create and start a new routine. You could prep for it tonight before bed. Plan out your day, Plan out your clothes, plan out your activities, plan out mindfulness time, work, social time, planet and live it. Do the things that make you happy and work towards the things that will bring you the life that you want. Each mindful action I take creates new positive opportunities in my life. Take some mindful actions, see those new positive opportunities and jump on them. Let's have a killer Monday and an incredible junior Guys, you deserve a great life and You are the only one who can create it. Gold make shit happen. I hope you have an incredible day today, guys. And I look forward to seeing you and stream later. Take care. Bye.
