It’s Eclectic (“DJ Ms. Eclectic” )
Jan 24, 2023 Season 4 Episode 52
Texas native, Shantelle “DJ Ms. Eclectic” Thompson does not follow any one system, instead, selects and uses the best elements of all, standing in the true definition of "Eclectic". With her creative stylings, she is establishing her lane in the Urban Christian Industry infusing old school and new music, creating an exhilarating experience whether On Air, DJing or Emceeing!

With an astounding mother as a classically trained vocalist and minister of music in her home church in TX, “Eclectic” grew up listening to soul stirring music from Gospel, to R&B, Jazz, Hip Hop and Alternative. Through this exposure, Eclectic started sharing her love for music as a Lyricist at the young age of 10 and frequently won talent shows during her teen years.
Eclectic would get her national start in the music industry after attending Prairie View A&M Uni- versity, where she would meet vocalist Yvette “Vet” Hardin through Sigma Alpha Iota In- ternational Music Fraternity for Women and several years after graduating the two would form the bold, cutting edge urban gospel group F. R. E. E. (The only Hip Hop Female Duo with a Christian platform). The group afforded Eclectic and Vet opportunities to open up for many greats including the popular MisFits Tour that featured DaT.r.u.t.h. and Mali Music and make na- tional TV appearances on platforms to include Bobby Jones Presents.

Through Eclectic’s tenure in music, she decided to not only be a lyricist but to broaden her horizon through 2 decks and a mixer. She has been blessed to share the stage with breakthrough artists like Erica Campbell, Kierra Sheard and Tamar Braxton.

She’s also DJ’d events at the SXSW Music and Media Conference, the world's leading music industry event, and shared her talents during the Stellar Awards Weekend. She is slated for the biggest Gospel Concert of its kind “God’s House of Hip Hop Summer Fest”. (DJ Ms. Eclectic is the only female DJ announced to hit the stage) and she recently won Female DJ of the Year at the Gospel Hip Hop Awards and DJ of the Year at the Spin Awards.
