Creature Feature: Dragon ππ₯
This particular episode was requested by Landon, who has been waiting so patiently β this oneβs for you, Landon! We're digging up awesome monsters from old stories. π We'll learn what makes them special β¨, and what they might eat π. Plus, we'll learn new words! π€
Imagine a colossal creature perched on a jagged mountain peak. Its scales shimmer in the sunlight, perhaps like polished emeralds or molten gold. Smoke curls from its nostrils, and its enormous, leathery wings are tucked tightly against its powerful body. With a sudden rumble, it unfurls those wings, blocking out the sun, and leaps into the sky. It soars with immense power, circling its lair, watching over its vast treasure hoard hidden deep within the mountain's caves.
Can you guess what it is? ... A Dragon! π
Dragons are legendary creatures found in myths and folklore all over the world. They are often shown as giant, snake-like or lizard-like beasts with wings, sharp claws, and sometimes the ability to breathe fire! π₯ They are known for their immense power and intelligence, making them truly formidable foes. (If something is formidable, it is very strong and impressive.)
