At Reuters Venture Capital group, he invested in leading global companies such as Yahoo!, Verisign, and Webex. His strategic acquisitions and management of emerging markets for Reuters allowed him to seamlessly grow the $600 million business. He then went on as the President of Intellectual Property and Science business at Thomson Reuters where he contributed to the overall direction of the company, developed the strategic proposition of the $1 billion revenue business, and prepared the division for sale to private equity for $3.55 billion in 2016. Basil is now an advisor, investor, and board member at numerous global technology companies.
