SIOUX CENTER, Iowa — Three former Southwest Minnesota Christian cheerleaders are continuing to do so on the collegiate level. Taylor De Boer and Annika Dyk are both juniors on the Dordt University cheerleading squad, with Vivian Dyk a sophomore. DeBoer is majoring in secondary education with an emphasis on English. Annika Dyk is enrolled in the school’s nursing program. Vivian Dyk is studying both international business and graphic design. Mel Knobloch serves as Dordt’s cheerleading and dance coach — a previous Great Plains Athletic Conference coach of the year. Dordt cheerleaders receive a partial scholarship.
