ELKTON, S.D. — Elkton-Lake Benton senior girls basketball player Charlie Thooft has made her college choice. Thooft on Monday, March 2 put pen to paper — signing with Minnesota West Community & Technical College. She will major in nursing at the Worthington-based school. “Minnesota West offers both a great nursing and women’s basketball program,” Thooft said via email to the Pipestone County Star. “I like the idea of completing an RN degree in two years, and being able to work as a nurse to finish a four-year degree,” she added.
