SPEAKER_00Welcome to Podcasting for Moms, the show for moms in business ready to start, grow, and scale a podcast that turns their listeners into buyers. I'm Jenny Summeson, a podcast strategist and fellow mom entrepreneur. You're in the right place if you want to learn how to start and grow a podcast that attracts your ideal clients and really does the heavy lifting for you when it comes to selling your offers, all while balancing life as a busy mom. Are you ready to create a podcast that grows your income, impact, and influence? Let's make podcasting work for you. Because as moms, we know how to get things done. All right, let's jump into the episode.
SPEAKER_01Hey, hey, and welcome back to Podcasting for Moms, the place for mom podcasters who want to build profitable, sustainable, lead-generating podcasts and part-time hours without burning out or living on social media 24-7. And today we're gonna be having a little heart-to-heart because if you've been stuck, overwhelmed, inconsistent, and doubting whether your podcast is even working, it's not because you don't know enough. It's because you're trying to build something powerful without real support. So let's talk about it. So we are just absolutely drowning in podcast advice. You can Google anything. You can Google how to grow a podcast, how to monetize your podcast, how to get more downloads, how to find guests, how to rank on Apple, how to use Podcast SEO, and how to launch a podcast. There's truly no shortage of information. In fact, that's actually part of the problem because when you're consuming advice constantly, you feel really productive. But when you're doing this, you're not building, you're researching, you're bookmarking, you're saving. You're telling yourself, once I figure this out, then I'm gonna be ready. But here's the truth most mom podcasters I work with don't need more knowledge. They need clarity, they need accountability, they need someone to look at their show and say, here's what actually matters. I want you to ignore the rest. So let's get honest here. If you've been podcasting for a while and you're still not seeing traction, it's probably not because you picked the wrong mic or your interim music is not perfect, or you didn't follow the latest growth hack. It's usually one of these things. Number one, you're inconsistent because you're overwhelmed. Number two, you're second guessing every move. Number three, you're trying to DIY everything. Number four, you don't know what actually moves the needle. And number five, you're building in isolation. And isolation is a silent momentum killer, especially as a mom. You already carry so much invisible load, adding things like be your own strategist, marketer, tech support, and production team on top of that, of course you're gonna be tired. Of course you're stuck. That's not a motivation problem. That is a support problem. So let's define this clearly. So let's talk about the difference between advice versus support. So advice says things like post consistently, optimize for SEO, repurpose your content, pitch yourself to other shows, sell more. Cool, great, thanks. Helpful, but like that's not no one's doing it for you, so you would just kind of take that with a grain of salt. Whereas support says, here is your specific growth strategy, here is what to focus on this month, here's what to ignore, here's what's working, here's what needs adjusting, here's how this connects to your offers. Let's implement this together. Advice is general, whereas support is personalized, and advice makes you feel informed while support creates momentum. And if you've been feeling like your podcast is just floating along, it's probably because you've been swimming in advice and starving for support. So let's talk about why moms especially need support. You're not a full-time YouTuber with unlimited time. You're not a bro marketer with a five-person team. You are building a business in the margins motherhood. You do not have hours to experiment and waste your time. And you don't have the energy to waste on strategies that may or may not work. You need clear priorities, efficient systems, sustainable rhythms, and strategic decisions. And most importantly, you need someone in your corner who understands the season that you're currently in. Because growth doesn't come from doing more, it comes from doing the right things consistently. And consistency is easier when you feel supported. So here's the part that no one talks about. When you stay in advice mode for far too long, you start to internalize the lack of results. You start thinking things like, maybe I'm not cut out for this, or maybe my niche isn't good, or maybe podcasting just doesn't work anymore. When in reality, you've never had someone help you build it strategically. It's like trying to assemble IKEA furniture by watching 47 TikToks instead of reading the actual manual. Eventually, you're exhausted and surrounded by extra screws. And that's what most podcasts look like after a year of DIY without support. They're half-built, underoptimized, full of potential, and quite frustrating. So now let's talk about what real support looks like. So real support looks like someone auditing your show and telling you the truth, someone mapping your podcast to your offers, someone helping you simplify your strategy, someone holding you accountable to follow through, and someone helping you fix leaks before they become burnout. It doesn't mean you can't learn, it just means you stop trying to learn everything alone. And here's something I say to my clients all the time: you don't build a profitable podcast by collecting tips. You build it by making aligned decisions over and over and over again. And aligned decisions are easier when you're not the only brain in the room. So if you've been thinking, I just need to figure this out, I want you to pause. What if you don't need to figure it out alone? What if the fastest path to momentum isn't another free resource, but real strategic support? That doesn't make you weak. It makes you efficient. And as moms, we do not have time to waste. So if this episode hit a little too personally, if you've been constantly consuming but not actually implementing, if you're tired of spinning your wheels, it might be time to shift from advice to support. I offer one-to-one podcast strategy and production support for moms who are ready to treat their podcast like the growth engine that it can be, not a hobby that lives at the bottom of their to-do list. You can check the show notes for details on working with me one-on-one, or you can explore my digital resources if you're not quite ready for that level of support quite yet. But whatever you do, I want you to stop trying to build alone. Your podcast deserves better than that, and so do you. So if this episode resonated with you, share it with another mom podcaster who's stuck in advice mode. And I'll see you next week because we are all building sustainable podcasts here, not burnout machines. Thank you for tuning in to Podcasting for Moms.
