We will cover everything from what's happening in the world comic, shows, and fandom to the hard hitting stories in the news today. Now, here's your host, Chad, and Kevin. Hello, and welcome to Escape Reality Comics Podcast Show. I'm your host Chad and my co host, Kevin, how you doing today, buddy?

Kevin:

Doing good. I was trying to get through an invincible.

Chad:

How would you like it so far?

Kevin:

I'm really enjoying it. It's like, it's like DC wants to be at that level. But this you know, I think Amazon unlock that. Hey, we could do whatever the hell we want. Right? Show some blood and gore.

Chad:

There. How you doing? I'm doing pretty good. I actually just got done watching Jupiter's Legacy, which I can't you know, it's pretty good. I can't I can't deny it. Um, I just hate CBR and bleeding coal and all those freakin news outlets just just just trying to ruin it for everyone, but I can't complain.

Kevin:

You still hate him huh.

Chad:

I still hate him. I still do. But you know, it is what it is. They have to make the money to I guess whatever. But I did enjoy it. But today we're going to talk about something pretty cool stuff today. So today's title is going to be the village with chocolate brains. So today we're gonna talk about venom and Carnage trailer and what's going on what's going on Resident Evil village, which has done really well. But we will get to that to the last part. So let's talk about venom. Dude, you saw the the trailer I saw the trailer. I liked the trailer. The trailer was really good.

Kevin:

Yeah, I actually liked the name of the movie to let there be carnage. Oh yeah. I really enjoyed that. I do like how Woody Harrelson I was like, okay, is he gonna? Is he gonna be in this movie? And yeah, he was kind of concerned that they were not going to do it. And you know, I don't know what it was about it. Because I think having a venom movie at all originally was was a big deal. And for them to keep the cast and make a second movie. It's like, wow,

Chad:

yeah. Oh, they had to have woody Harrison. He will do the character Really? spot on good. To be honest.

Kevin:

Yeah. And he's got what shorter hair now. So like, and then original reveal in the post credits the first movie, so it was like he had crazy or like, frazzled hair, you know, kind of curly.

Chad:

But he looks like he did cut his hair a little bit. So I guess. I mean, even paid homage to Spider Man. Although I guess this is not part of the MCU I guess. That's what I'm understanding anyways. But yeah, pay homage to Spider Man.

Kevin:

it's confusing though. It's very confusing because they showed a Michael Keaton's character. So that's really odd.

Chad:

But they did actually pay homage to Spider Man, Woody Harrison's character actually smashing the spider on his desk. So I thought that was really good. So like, okay, at least they're paying homage to Spider Man right? Like the beginning of the trailer. I loved it. I'm sorry. You heard venom like cooking you hurt you seem cooking seemed singing along. And at the end bring these two plates in is yummy. Good to see Eddie. Just kind of dealing with it though. Eddie.

Kevin:

Just like Oh, Jesus.

Chad:

Yeah. It's like having a cat but like, 1000s times worse, because this thing's attached to you. And it's like moving everything around you. And it's like Jesus Christ.

Kevin:

Here. You know, here's your thoughts. It's just yeah, it'd be a symbiote would be you'd have to really, really love to have that inside your body. Like what did you think of the 3d FX as compared to the first movie? Do you think it's about a spot on or

Chad:

do I think it's spot on? Honestly, I like the first venom.

Kevin:

We had the animation with the you know, the venom attacks in the first movie. That was that was so spot on. And then how this trailers kind of showing Carnage like how that's gonna be animated that that was unbelievable.

Chad:

Yeah, and then also have like, Tom Hardy playing as Eddie Brock. I mean, I don't think there's a better character to be to be Eddie Brock to be honest.

Kevin:

Right? Yeah, so this could be just hitting it out of the park here.

Chad:

Oh big time. I always thought it's kind of funny. So according to several sources, this movie may take place to in a Sam Raimi 's spider man's movies at the newspaper, because I guess has the same format as the Daily Bugle.

Kevin:

So yeah, that looks very interesting. Because I am kind of hoping like, you know, you and I have been talking about it on on and off of the podcast, but there's those thoughts about the kind of another spider verse kind of idea where it's got like all the spider men together and give them

Chad:

Yeah, actually, that might just happen. I think the next one has almost no return home. I think the next one is apparently there's supposed to be a spider man movie that it again, it could be you know,

Kevin:

there's speculation

Chad:

Yeah, but they're bringing like all the three spider man's together in a multiverse type of situation. So maybe venom might be coming in through that one. So who knows?

Kevin:

Yeah, god. I absolutely loved the Sam Raimi movies Those were the especially Spider Man two. Oh my god, that was one of my favorite movies before we really had the MCU kick in.

Chad:

Oh, yes. Yes.

Kevin:

So if you know if this was just gonna reference maybe the Daily Bugle, kind of maybe looking like those movies. I just it'll just make me happy anyways, so yeah,

Chad:

let's get back on topic. So at the end of the trailer, the video trailer right, go back to ven venom. You see him walking to a like a corner store right? I thought this is hilarious. I love this is Oh, Hi, Mrs. Chen. All sudden you see venom. Oh, Hi, Mrs. Chen. That's going crazy. And I guess at the end of that part, as Mrs. Chen was saying to Eddie Brock saying that the shipment of chocolate is late. And that's when I guess you see venom, saying that I'm happy to eat Mrs. Chen, you know, type situation. And you always wonder like, Okay, well, I guess there's a reason for chocolate, I guess is deeply rooted in the comics. So okay, here comes a major big word that I normally can't pronounce at all. So venom needs phenethylamine. There you go. I said things that are in phenethylamine, that is a chemical that is developed in the brain, phenethylamine, and Jesus was trying to say that 10 times fast, right?

Kevin:

Right.

Chad:

Jesus Christ. I mean, I mean, you had a hard time with that word phenethylamine. So yeah, it's so it's a chemical development in the brain. So venom actually craves this stuff. So phenylethylamine is absolutely what venom needs to survive. So, and Eddie Brock refuses venom brains. So he told Eddie told Venom's you can't be in brains? Nope, that is totally against. That's against the rules. You can't eat brains can't murder whatever, right?

Kevin:

So essentially starving him or what?

Chad:

Yeah, it basically starved him. So in the comic books, venom actually left Eddie for not allowing venom to eat brains because he was starving. So he went absolutely needs it. So Eddie had to come up with a substitution for this brain chemical that is also found in chocolate. So and he needs a lot to feed venom. So that's why Mrs. When Mrs. Chen said the shipment is late for the chocolate. I mean, that's that's been food. Besides all the other stuff he's eating But yeah, I thought it was really cool on

Kevin:

the quaint quaint quips and stuff that they got the symbiote insane. It's it's just on par with what the original movie had so that makes me very happy. So yeah, chocolate.

Chad:

Speaking of chocolate, you know, reminds me of chocolate?

Kevin:

what's that?

Chad:

popl, which has no chocolate in it, so don't eat it.

Kevin:

Smoking it.

Chad:

Kevin:

Just don't eat it.

Chad:

Right don't don't there's no chocolate in it. That'd be bad. Popl would give me a call later, Are you telling our people our customers that eat the popl? No But anyways, so you have a PlayStation five right, Kevin?

Kevin:

Oh, absolutely. Yeah,

Chad:

have you checked out Resident Evil the village

Kevin:

I have not yet they had they had a demo that just came out a couple weeks back so I have that downloaded but not yet played it. So I I'm just a huge Resident Evil fan, so I'll get to this game eventually.

Chad:

I unfortunately haven't played resident evil since like resident evil Nemesis came out. So it's been a very long time since I even like, had the opportunity to play resident evil.

Kevin:

You gotta catch up, man.

Chad:

I know. I know. I I just have no i think i was a trucker. So I've been a truck driver for about five years. So you know, try to play anything was just hard. But um, Resident Evil village has hit hitting profits dude. In Capcom's history. And the entire history of Capcom. This is the biggest profit they ever had. Right? they've sold selling over 3 million copies in just four days.

Kevin:

Holy cow.

Chad:

So but there's actually a problem right now. So there's a problem in paradise capcoms in trouble. As you know, we don't know exactly how much trouble but we're about to see because there's a Dutch director. named Richard Raaphorst . I hope I said that right Raaphorst who directed at 2013 horror movie called Frankenstein's army?

Kevin:

Okay,so what was it have to do with resident evil village?

Chad:

Exactly, so he's accusing Capcom of copying his own monster design with no credit or permission from Raaphorst from the router. So, apparently so I had to look this up. The mastering question is a bossfight. I guess in the game, it's in the Heisenbergs factory section of the game. I haven't played it. So I'm not too sure about this. I hope not giving out too much information about the game because it just came out. It's apparently it's where you had the fight a monster with the propeller for a head as monsters called Sturm.

Kevin:

Yeah, I looked at this on Twitter. Yeah, after you told me about it as this looks ridiculous,

Chad:

right. So I guess the monster that particular monster, the director saying that it's from his movie from Frankenstein's Army. So, in the village, I mean, I took a look of the two so you know, I saw the both of them. And I have to say they're very similar. Like,

Kevin:

Oh, absolutely.

Chad:

Very similar. I mean, you took a look at it, too. I mean, I was like, holy crap, but you know what, you really take the like, little details into it. A little similarities, right? There's like little tweaks here and there and all that stuff. But if he stole anything, I wouldn't say it's identical. Right? I would not say it's identical. I would say like, maybe they got the idea from him. If that but who knows. But um, apparently, I guess the Raaphorst said that the scene was even identical. Hmm. Except for the movie. I saw the movie clip I have you seen the movie clip yet?

Kevin:

No, I have not but he think this guy would be a little flattered. But you would think that same time I don't blame

Chad:

I mean, yeah, cuz apparently he's saying that all him. these monsters he had in Frankenstein's army in his movie was his own design. Sorry. He said it's it's hard he had to figure out a movie and figure out all these monsters and he literally had like pencil him out and figure this these monsters out for himself. I mean, I saw the clip Frankenstein's army monsters and questions on right. So I guess he's saying that the scenes identical in the village, that's what he's saying. But instead of I guess I I'm not gonna tell you how the monster ends in the game. But in Frankenstein's army, I guess you had to cut the fuel lines, and he burst into flames. You have three people in this it kinda look like a factory setting. In this monster is this going at'em and literally is like a freakin propeller engine. And these guys, these two people or three people in the scene goes over behind him and cuts the fuel lines which burst this monster into flames. So I guess he even goes even further than this. I guess a Twitter user called CloneKorp is claiming that it's not just Sturm The, the propeller monster that Capcom copied, but various other monsters as well. So I had to take a look at this. So I saw this and if I'm, I'm just gonna say this for the sake of time. I'm going to say this. If Capcom did copy these monster from Frankenstein's army, I would say they copied the idea from these people. I mean, you saw the pictures. I mean, the comparison. I really can't say that it is this monster but it is pretty similar. Would you say?

Kevin:

Yeah, absolutely. I mean it is a clear like similarity there but it's Yeah, it's not like they copied and pasted. You know? Exactly. Took my 3d models.

Chad:

Exactly. So I mean, it'd be the same thing as what basically what Disney did for the Lion King. So you know before Lion King there was Kimba the Japanese anime that's all oddly similar to Lion King. Oh right. Yeah, that's an old movie The Disney copied Kimba and made Lion King from it so I mean it's pretty similar also, except you don't have a white lion but yeah

Kevin:

yeah, I you know I don't know how I feel about this. I mean, if it's a clear like rip off then that's gonna be a problem but I don't know if it's just me with the wool over the face or the eyes but I just I'm still excited to play this game. I'm like Ah, you guys copied it's your you know, but if they did it's just gonna be a problem.

Chad:

I mean, I have to give credit to the reason evil the village right it gave me another Fetish 9 foot women that are curvy. Oh, wow.

Kevin:

Yeah, you're not the only one that many people online are just like,

Chad:

I know right? And I first saw this like, I did not know that about myself. Yeah, it was something else.

Kevin:

I don't know if I listeners if you guys want to take a look. Take a look on that Twitter and look at the images yourself and see what you kind of think to So yeah,

Chad:

I mean that's all the time we have today. I hope you enjoy that cup of coffee in the morning if you listen to this or to that, you know nice glass of Marlo you know hope you have a nice wonderful time and good night.

Kevin:

Good night and get some chocolate.

Chad:

Chocolate..

Kevin:

I'd make a weird, I'm sorry.Bye bye.

Chad:
