Matthew and Drew are best friends who share a passion for tattoos, travel and hair. They’re both professional hairstylists who have worked at fashion weeks around the world, styled some of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood and had their work featured in countless magazines. But both their careers began unconventionally- they began cutting their own hair in their teens, then became college athletes who decided to follow their true passion- styling hair. Their work and adventures have taken them around the world where they discovered that hair is both a specifically personal and broadly unifying thing. Through their journeys, both personal and professional, they’ve heard some of the most fascinating stories from fellow hairstylists and clients how hair has transformed not just their look, their confidence and their spirits- but also their lives. The Strands That Bind Us –
In today's episode of The Strands That Bind Us, we sit down to chat with native New Yorker Yureesh, who experienced several life chapters worth of lessons, even before jumping into the hair community.

Yureesh and Drew were introduced several years ago being involved as educators with L'Oreal Professionnel, where they developed a friendship, exchanged countless ideas and concepts, and supported each other's growth.

Today Yureesh sits as the Global Director of Development for Pureology, director of education at Broome Street Society Salon in New York City, facilitator of Personal and Business development workshops for hairstylists and corporate teams within L'Oreal Professionnel Products Division, and is one hell of a motivating individual.

His unique path has led him to a blend of highs and lows filled with punk music, family support, substance abuse and silver linings as he has reinvented himself and allowed his successes to stack high.
