2020 The Season That Never Was
In 2020 the world was thrown into disarray when the global coronavirus pandemic hit. One of the many victims of this pandemic was local sport, with many competitions and leagues being canceled all around the world, leaving a lot of blokes with f*** all to do on a Saturday afternoon. The Dandy Casuals Football Club was one of the sporting clubs that was affected by the cancellation of the 2020 season. The Dandy Casuals are exactly that, Casual by name, and Casual by nature. They are a club made up of misfits, some that have grown up playing soccer, some that have switched codes from footy because it was too serious and required way too much fitness, and some who just needed an excuse to get away from the missus and kids for a few hours each week. Although we didn't get a season in 2020, this is our version of how it probably would have played out, on and off the field. Written, produced and narrated by Jarryd Wills. The boys are forced by the league to participate in an anger management program, as a result of an all in brawl they were involved in in their last game. The club was handed a one game suspension, and were told they won’t be permitted to re enter the league until they have completed at least one session. Sounds easy right? As per usual, things don’t exactly go to plan.
